A: So the support ending is for nest secure, this doesn't include the thermostat. I know Google has been nudging users to add nest equipment into the Google home and they will be adding features through there instead of the nest app itself. But to answer your question there is no mention of getting rid of support for the thermostat.
A: If there is a wire in your Nest thermostat’s G connector, you can run your system’s fan independently of heating or cooling. So your system doesn’t need to be actively heating or cooling to run the fan. However, you can only run the fan when your thermostat is set to a temperature mode (like Cool mode, for example). You cannot run the fan if your thermostat is set to Off. You can set the fan to run a fixed schedule or manually set it to run. It can’t be set to automatically run or switch off when you leave or come home.
Q: Is this black or mirror black?
A: Just got it in the mail today - assumed it was black (matte) which is what I wanted and they simply did not have mirror black available. Unfortunately for me, what I received was mirror black. They really should update the listing.

Amazing Thermostat!
The ease of use and set up for this is awesome! House was built in 2009 and had an older Honeywell thermostat. Being able to finally control the temp from anywhere is convenient. I love all the features. Also looks very modern.

Improves Wheelchair Accessibility In My Home
My wife uses a wheelchair and always had a hard time reading and adjusting out old thermostat. With the best learning thermostat she can adjust it from her phone and even when we are away from home. Connected to our google smart home system she can even voice control it. The nest automatically reads when your phone is no longer in the house and will adjust accordingly if you want it too. Installation on out old HVAC system was a snap. I was done in less than an hour. Also BestBuy price matched a Costco members deal I showed them on my phone. All I had to do was show them a valid Costco card and they took care of me. Very happy with this addition.
