Q: Do you have battery replacements for the GoTrax Shift S1 eBike?
A: I've looked pretty thoroughly for the answer in the posting and no luck and you asked one year ago and haven't got an answer. that's not good business
Q: Is there any anti-theft protection or key to prevent someone from stealing?
A: There seems to be some variability in the way these bikes are equipped, but the Shift S1 I bought here has a combination lock attached to the seat post. You might be able to see it in the picture, it swivels around the post to secure the battery, and comes with a thin cable like they sell for laptops, etc. Someone with a decent cable cutter or small screwdriver could clip the cable or disassemble the lock, so I still wouldn't leave it unattended, but they can make it more difficult for someone to just snatch your bike/battery.
Q: Can a 9 yr old ride this? Do the handlebars go lower?
A: GoTrax recommends ages 16+ for these e-Bikes. Might be a bit too complicated for 9, with the combination of e-bike, controls, and folding latches. Because the handlebar/tiller assembly is hinged just above the top tube, the grips can only be only lowered to a minimum of about 35" from the ground.

Q: If the battery dies can you still petal the bike normally?
A: Yes, you can still pedal, but as this is only a single speed drivetrain, you will not be moving very fast.
A: The Shift S1 comes with a 42VDC adapter/charger that plugs into a barrel port on top of the battery. This port has a rubber flap to cover it when not in use. Battery can be charged by itself or while it is installed in the bike (as shown in my picture below), although it is a little easier to connect the charger if the battery lock is disengaged. Charger is a switching power supply with LED to indicate status: red=battery charging, green=fully charged.
