A: This HP Monitor does not have speakers. As long as your MacBook Pro has a DisplayPort you should be ok, HP cannot guarantee compatibility becuase HP does not test or support third party products.
Q: display cord
A: Yes. It comes with a Displayport cable.
Q: The hdmi cord does not fit into my computer, is there an adapter available?
A: Only if you have DisplayPort output on your computer. This monitor does not accept HDMI, VGA or DVI or any adapters from these outputs. It is DisplayPort only. If your computer doesn't specify DisplayPort output it won't work. All Macs have DisplayPort, but you'll need a Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable that you can find online for less than $10. Check out the Wikipedia article on DisplayPort to learn about the different versions.
