The HP ENVY 6455e makes it easy to print, scan and copy creative projects, borderless photos and homework with automatic 2-sided printing and the automatic document feeder. A: The HP Envy Pro 6455 printer can print, copy, and scan. It does not have the fax function. You can use the HP Smart app to send faxes. The HP Envy Pro 6455 printer uses the HP 67, 67XL, or 67XXL. I would recommend searching Best Buy's website for the current prices on the ink cartridges. HP 67 black yields about 120 pages. HP 67 tricolor yields about 100 pages. HP 67XL black yields about 240 pages. HP 67XL tricolor yields about 200 pages. HP 67XXL black yields about 400 pages. HP 67XXL tricolor yields about 330 pages.
Q: Are you able to turn off the glowing light? I've read it does not turn off on its own.
A: If you are connected to the internet it never turns off. There is a power button above the power cable. I just turned mine off, this is the first day I owned it and the light was driving me nuts. If you need to print from your phone via the app then the power has to stay on. Personally I think the light will eventually burn out if it runs 24/7. I had the old Envy 4500 for years, the scanner went. That is the only reason I purchased this one. The 4500 went into a power saving mode automatically and the power button was right on the front of the printer.
Q: Does the HP Envy Pro 6455 Wireless AIO have a USB port to scan & save documents to?
A: HP's response was interesting. The product description clearly states that there is a USB port for PC connection. HP are saying that with this USB PC connection the scan feature will not perform its function? Every other HP printer I've ever had did.
Q: Does it come initially with ink or do I need to purchase it? Also what is instant Ink?
A: It does come with ink. Two standard cartridges come with the printer, one tri-color ink and the other black ink. The Instant Ink is a subscription service it's much cheaper than buying cartridges at you own time. So it says. I have yet not tried this service.
Q: is this compatible with a Chromebook
A: Yes, the HP Envy Pro 6455 printer is compatible with the Chromebook. Once you connect the printer to your wireless connection, follow these instructions: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04122530
A: Yes, you can scan up to 35 pages through the auto document feeder. It cannot scan double sided documents through the auto document feeder. And you can also scan one page at a time on the flatbed scanner.
A: As long as your computer has Windows 7, 8, or 10, you can use this printer. You can also print photos on photo paper on this printer. We recommend using HP Everyday, Advanced, or Premium Plus photo paper.
A: no. max size of print is 8X10 the tray will not adjust for longer paper. i'm so mad. i've never purchased a printer that had a paper length limitation! how much money does it cost to add a plastic hinge so the tray can expand the paper length....probably a big whopping $2.00 or something!!!! i'm beyond frustrated!!!!

This is by far the best printer I have ever bought. It wasn't expensive but it is an excellent product. I don't have to work at using its features. The quality is excellent and if I have to unplug it even for days, it easily connects right back to the wifi and is good to go. I am delighted with it's trouble free operation and quality printing and scanning.

With respectful acknowledgement to the Beatles, HP's getting better all the time ... but ... Ink usage and price has always been HP's weakness. The printers are always good and reasonably priced on the low end, but they make up for it with their ink autocracy. They have made a noticeable improvement in the cataloging of the cartridges reducing the designation numbers, and brought the cost down... somewhat. The other problem they still retain is forcing one to use their ink supply subscription 'service', which I did not use at first, until I tried to use the scan commands which would not work, requiring me to do it from the 'display' on the unit which is an inch this side of useless. Once I decided to try their introductory, "free" 6 month supply service, on which you will pay shipping, so... not free, and created an account with them which required my giving my credit card info, and suddenly, the "scan" command in the software started working. hmmm ... The other complaint I have with this unit is the fact that there is a USB connection on the back the unit, but you can't use it. My home network centers on my 2019 27" iMac, which is hard wired into my router since it's simply more reliable than wireless. I prefer my printers to be hard wired as well. Fortunately, my iMac will operate in both modes simultaneously. (Also fortunately, my router functions in both WiFi modes, 4G & 5G, since I have an extensive home network for personal entertainment.) Conclusion; it's a pretty good deal, so far. But ... we'll see if it remains so ...

I was in the hunt for a new printer since the one that was given to me years ago didnt have a scanner and ink is super expensive. I found this one, easy-ish to set up. I’ve been able to print from my phone, ipad and laptop with no issues. At first, i wasnt able to scan from the printer but once I connected to the printer “wifi” i was able to scan things through the hp smart app. I like that it comes with the 3 months of ink
