I was unsure about buying a refurbished computer, but now that I have I'm super happy. The computer works perfectly, looks great and performs all the functions I need it to for college. I love the display and screen size. The computer is also light for its size.

I ordered online. Screen died after 25 days. Local store would not accept a return after 14 days. Glad I paid for Geek Squad Protection. It is taking forever to get it back.

Good replacement for older laptop

I purchased this replacing a 5 year old Gateway NV 73 17" laptop. I was somewhat skeptical buying a recertified laptop but since it was Geek Squad-what the heck? So far no trouble and it is fast especially since I upgraded from Win 8 to Win 8.1. A lot of bloatware but it was easy to uninstall along with the unwanted tiles in Win 8.1. By the way the 8.1 upgrade did require other Win 8 updates before the 8.1 appeared in the Windows Store. The good points are the weight if you will be transporting it, the resolution is great for Youtube, DVD's, and photo's. The bad points-only 3 USB ports #my Gateway had 4#, and the DTS sound sucks-again my Gateway had Dolby but hook up some decent laptop speakers and voila! I highly recommend it for replacing that old laptop.

I have a custom gaming rig but I wanted something relatively inexpensive that I could game on while on the road. I didn't expect to be able to play games like Crysis on it but was pleasantly surprised with some of the games it runs. Since I already have a dedicated gaming rig I really didn't want to spend more than $300-$400 on a laptop and definitely didn't want to spend $1000 or more for a dedicated gaming laptop. FYI: I noticed a huge improvement by upgrading the RAM to 8 GB on some games like Borderlands 2 and Diablo 3. I was able to find the exact same RAM on eBay for $30. I haven't done it yet, but I am also going to install a 1 GB Hybrid Hard Drive. Not as good as an actual SSD, but will perform much better than the 5400 RPM stock drive.

Refurbished products ship with the same items shipped with the original product, and may include either the standard HP warranty, limited warranty, or no warranty.

- Answer Our return/exchange policy is 15 days from day of purchase/delivery, and we no longer have a restocking fee. You should be able to return the laptop to a Best Buy store for a full refund within 15 days.
