I got these and returned them within an hour. They sounded pretty good but not for the price, it could have been user error but the Dolby 7.1 sounded terrible to me. Overall the sound quality was mediocre for such a well known brand. The lows were fantastic and the mids were pretty good too but the highs were way to ringy for me. Everything seem to have a hollow tone and very tinny sound. The plug and play ability of the headset was nice I had no issue with drivers or anything. The design over all is aesthetically nice but the weight was one of the first things that made me think they would not be the right headset for me. This is a very heavy headset by comparison to even my Astro A40s, which is saying something. I put the headset on and noticed real quick that the floating headband design, though lessened the feel of the weight, left the headset feeling very loose. The design does not allow for much adjustment and although you can position them just right on your head any rapid movement will knock them around forcing you to readjust. The ear pads themselves were very comfortable but a little too shallow for me and the convex speaker grill under the ear pad cloth rubbed against my ears, again the looseness ultimately is to blame for that. Keep in mind that these are gripes specific to me and my personal preference, I think what I was most disappointed about was the lack of demo for these at any Best Buy. I returned these for the Cloud II, which did have an in store demo display.

Hyper X: Best company in peripherals

Just bought this headset today. It is the best gaming headset I've ever owned. The sound quality is A+. This is comparable to some studio headphones I've used, no joke. They are very lightweight, my only complaint for comfort/fit as that they are almost too lose, if I look down, they almost fall of my head. (Same issue I had with the Cloud 1 headset a year ago) The features are also great. Being able to toggle the 7.1 Surround AND change presets of EQ is awesome. Then of course adjusting Mic/Speaker volume right on the Control Box. I also own the Hyper X Alloy FPS Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, which is a VERY loud keyboard. ( Best keyboard I've ever had) The microphone on the Razer Manowar picked up EVERY. SINGLE. KEYSTROKE, now with this new noise cancelling mic, it doesn't pick up nearly as much background noise. Overall I'm very excited and happy with my purchase. Honestly if you're looking for a solid company to jump into gaming with or switch to Hyper X is the way to go. Minus hardware in my PC, EVERYTHING I own as far as accessories is Hyper X. Buy it.

I purchased this headset to replace my Tritton Pro headset that I have had since 2011. Unfortunately, it is nearly impossible to get another new set of Trittons. My favorite part of the headset besides the surround sound was the ability to independently adjust chat volume and game volume via a physical control. I had used those on both the Playstation and my gaming PC flawlessly. When I saw that the HyperX - Cloud Revolver S offered the capability to adjust both chat and game volume the same way my Tritton did, I decided to finally retire the Trittons. The surround sound works decently but there is no capability to adjust chat volume even though there is a control that would lead you to believe you could. After getting tired of hearing people almost blow out my ear drums, I spoke with tech support. They believed it was a defect USB Audio Control Box and they had me work with Best Buy for an exchange. Best Buy stores in San Antonio do not stock this product so I have to wait a few days to give the Cloud Revolver S another chance. To my disappointment, the replacement Cloud Revolver S does not work as advertised either. Another disappointment is that you have to either put the microphone in your mouth or shout for people to hear you when using this headset. Also, if you try using the audio jacks instead of the USB Audio Control Box, you will not have surround sound (even with a high-end sound card). I'm going back to the store to return this tomorrow. Complete waste of time and gas.

I think this headset is tremendous. It’s directional audio precision that is offered through the 7.1 mix cable is what is usually offered on a headset that costs hundreds more. You get the solid build quality of a steel construction as well as Hyper X’s patented memory foam that makes you forget you have headphones on even if you’re gaming for hours. This is definitely the 1 mic that can be used on all platforms too. With the 7.1 USB being supported on only PS4 and PC, while the 3.5mm jack can be used on your XBOX. I would recommend this product for someone who believes they need an outstanding mic and only need one for all the platforms they play on. It’s studio grade sound with the highs, mids and lows and that can be the difference for hearing footsteps, reloading sounds and gunshots with different distances in the game that you play on. Exceptional product!

I purchased these after a 2 month search and 4 headsets later.( Astro, Turtle B, Razor)which had range of 150-190$. 2 of which didn't properly work out the box. Broader sound range than most others. More comfortable and sound quality is awesome. Dolby Surround really brings out the details in the game. Awesome for FPS games as you can hear footsteps FAR in the distance. A solid built headset with Metal bands that allow movement without breaking and soft memory foam headrest unlike those cheap plastic made headsets with rubber headrest. Its plug and play 100% and no need to download software on a PC that doesn't work. AWESOME PRODUCT!!

I needed a new mic for my gaming and wanted a new set of headphones incorporated into one. The surround sound is clear and allows me to detect in-game where the action is. For example, I can hear the direction gunshots are coming from, and either run towards them or hightail it out of there. The included controller allows me to mute my mic when I need to with the press of a button. Both sound and volume control are located on the controller as well. The mic is flexible for exact positioning to and from my mouth. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

After much research online, it was down to these or the Steel Series 7 Arctic wireless. I wanted hardwired, and these paid off in spades. Solid quality build from the frame, through the drivers and down to the foam cups, this headset feels solid, sounds amazing, and plays well. It has a long cloth covered braided cord, inline volume and mute controls, but hours of gameplay prove these out to be a pretty comfortable set of headphones. Mic sounds full, not tinny or with echo, all around a great investment and a build that should last a long time.

      DO NOT BUY FOR PS4!!!!

If you own a PS4 and are interested in this headset, think again!! I bought this headset along with the Cloud Alpha. Heres biggest issue with this headset. In order to use it for the PS4 you have to plug it in to the actual console not your PS controller. so now you have this really long wire plugged into your playstation leading to your head. You can plug the headset into your controller but then have no access to volume/mute/dolby remote. This was a huge design failure for anyone buying this for the PS4. Also compared to the Cloud Alpha theres hardly any difference in sound and they are like $25 cheaper.
