A: My Answer: Yes, this processor fits the LGA 1151 socket, the motherboard I paired it with is the MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon LGA 1151 (300 series), which has the LGA 1151 socket. If you have some of the older LGA 1151 Motherboards, you'll have to do a BIOS/Firmware update to make it compatible with this processor (or so I've read on the internet). I went for the Z390 chipset, which works with this processor. My IT professional answer: However the best way to know for sure if your motherboard is compatible is to call the motherboard manufacturer and ask them =D
A: You can use it with a B360, but you will not get the full power of a -k unlocked processor unless you use a motherboard with a Z390 or upgraded Z370 chipset.
Q: Can anybody confirm if my ASUS PRIME H270-PLUS motherboard will support this processor?
A: After checking it out online the answer is "Supposedly" Yes... If... You upgrade the Bios Twice!!! Once to a newer version and then a second time to the latest 300 series Bios I Must Warn You... Updating a Bios is Dangerous! If not done correctly and fails... You Motherboard would be No Good Anymore! Proceed at your own risk! However according to the Asus Support website... If you do this it will accept the newer Processor... Good Luck! Rick.
Q: Will i need to buy a cooler for this CPU if I plan on gaming?
A: Yes. K models do not come with a heatsink/cooler.
A: Unless you want to fry your new CPU I suggest you get a cooler. It does not come with a cooler.
Q: Does this come with a cooler if not, what cooler would you recommend?
A: No it doesn’t come with a cpu cooler. Personally I recommend the ICUE H100I ELIETE from Corsair but any brand 240 water cooler will work perfect!
A: Yes and no. You can just take it out of the box and it will work... but you will still have to wait for the bios to download for the processor. Also, It won't just jump into windows ten if the computer does not have windows ten installed on the hard drive already. The processor has nothing to do with having windows ten or not the hard drive and Microsoft accounts due. All the processor does is run what is in the hard drive, it doesn't have anything extra except its bios. What that means is that if your hard drive already has windows ten on it, then adding the processor will allow you to use it within a few minutes but if your hard drive lacks windows ten it will work, you just will be prompted to log in to Microsoft account.
Q: Will this work with a Asus Prime B365M-A LGA-1151?
A: The CPU is socketed LGA 1151. You should be set to go. :)
