A: In case of a power failure, you can light the gas surface burners on your cooktop with a match. Hold a lit match to the burner, then push in and turn the control knob to the LITE position. A: Yes. We live In a rural area so propane was our only option. It requires a conversion kit to accommodate propane. Remember if there is going to be a drawer underneath the cooktop it must be cut shorter to accommodate the piping .

The grates are also dishwasher safe and can be washed in a dishwasher. To remove burned-on food, place the grates in a covered container and soak them with a 1/4 cup of ammonia for several hours or overnight, wash, and rinse well and dry...^IFV
