A: Hi Overthehill, The dryer does not get plumbed into the water line. The drawer on the front is a water container for the steam and you do have to fill it manually. It’s not an inconvenience from personal experience, I only use the steam when I don’t feel like ironing something from the closet.

Q: Is this plenty big to dry a king size comforter without it wading up?
A: No Doubt! Huge dryer leaving comforter opened up and dry versus waded up and wet, which always required more dry cycles. Not the case with this efficient big boy!
A: The LG 9.0 cu. ft. Gas Dryer with Steam in White Model # DLGX8001W does not require a water hookup for the steam. It has a Steam Feeder that has to be manually filled with just cold water up to the MAX line. You cannot use distilled water as that prevents the water level sensor in the steam generator from functioning. The water used cannot exceed 86°F/30°C. ^CP

A: When I ordered this dryer the power cord was automatically added to the cart as mandatory by Best Buy. However, it adds a 4 prong cord by default. Last week when they called to deliver, they asked me if I had a 3 prong or a 4 prong connection (there is no standard). I looked and I had a 3 prong. They have both when they come so it didn't matter, as they are the same price. If you are buying in the store directly, just state which one you need.

A: Hi DrParker. The recommended installation clearance spacing for the LG 9.0 Cu. Ft. 14-Cycle Electric Dryer with Steam - Graphite Steel, Model # DLEX8100V is 1 inch for the sides and 5" for the rear. The dryer has been tested for spacing of 1inch clearance on the sides and rear. Recommended spacing should be considered for ease of installation, for wall, door and floor moldings (2.54cm) and to reduce noise transfer. There should be at least a little space around the dryer (or any other appliance) to eliminate the transfer of vibration from one to the other. Too much vibration could cause them to make noise or bump each other causing paint damage and making even more noise...^IFV
