27GL850 but $50 cheaper!
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Uses the exact same panel as the legendary LG 27GL850 but without the USB hub making it $50 cheaper! The 27GL850 is easily one of the best, if not the best, 27" 1440p gaming panel. It matches or exceeds other monitors in clarity of motion (grey to grey response times) and color accuracy at a sub $500 price level (the Viewsonic Elite XG270QG, ASUS ROG Swift PG27UQ, and Gigabyte Aorus FI27Q-P are all $600 or more at the time of this review - and shamefully that Gigabyte model is the third of a product line that didn't actually add DisplayPort 1.4 until that Q-P model). Anyone looking for a premium gaming monitor should look no further as not only is it the best panel, it's at the best price by far. Still can't believe I got this at $449 when the actual 27GL850 (last year's model) is extremely hard to find and going for upward of $600 as well. If I had the extra money, I would buy two more of these.

Great Monitor
|Posted .Features
Quality5 out of 5This is my first monitor in over 15 years. I just built my first gaming P.C and combined with this monitor I am blown away at what I have been missing. The picture quality is amazing. I am comfortable that anyone who buys this will be satisfied. My only gripe is I wish this monitor had usb support like the other variant. But not a deal breaker.

Excellent for Xbox One X
|Posted .Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Bought this monitor to replace the BenQ EX2780Q which is nearly identical on specs and price. My issue with the BenQ was the non adjustable stand and overall image quality. I don't like to tinker with settings too much but I could only find one usable color setting with it. This LG has 5 that I like and could use without issue. The stand is fully adjustable and well built. The whole monitor just looks great. I'm able to use 1440p at 120hz on the Xbox One X and everything is crisp and runs buttery smooth. I cannot recommend this monitor enough

Fantastic Monitor For All!
|Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I purchased this monitor on an impulse buy, actually just wanting at the time to spend some money, well I have purchased several monitors from Winston Best Buy and I have returned some but I have kept the best ones that are the best in my opinion. I have two HP OMEN 27i Gaming Monitors and they are fantastic, and though I purchased this LG MONITOR at the time u didn't expect it to be and turn out to become my favorite all around monitor, its great, and now I am considering returning the two omens and purchase the same LG as this one and then purchase another LG except the other one I want is more expensive, bigger, wider, alot better, and it will be my main monitor!

Q: QuestionWhat's the difference between this and the GL850-B? All the specs look the same, only difference I see is the name GN850 instead of GL850
Asked by Jason.
- A:Answer Hi Jason. The "N" in the model number for the LG 27'' UltraGear™ QHD Nano IPS 1ms 144Hz G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitor, Model # 27GN850-B identifies its year of development as 2020 and the "L" in the model number for the LG 27GL850 27'' UltraGear™ Nano IPS 1ms Gaming Monitor with G-Sync® Compatibility identifies it as a 2019 model. The differences between the monitors is that the 2020 model does not have the USB Up-Stream (ver 3.0) and 2 x USB Down-Stream (ver 3.0) ports...^IFV

Q: QuestionIs there any quality difference on the panels between the Gl850 model and the GN850 model ? Or is it just the year and the usb differences?

Q: QuestionDoes 4k or HDR have the larger impact on picture quality. Monitors with both seem excessively high and neither tech is new. My 55" TV wasn't that high in price and it has both.
Asked by HMDude.
- A:Answer The HDR on this monitor is technically there but you will not be able to notice it. Plus the 1ms thing, while technically achievable is of no use in games because of picture distortion. The real number whilst still being able to see everything properly is around 4.65ms which is still pretty impressive. Lastly there is a huge difference between 4k and 1440p on a large tv screen, there is not on a 27 inch monitor. 1440p looks amazing on a good monitor like this one. Just forget about HDR on this monitor, it's not happening.

Q: QuestionThis monitor have hdmi 2.1 port?
Asked by Angie.
- A:Answer No, this has HDMI 2.0, which is sufficient because it’s only a 1440 display. HDMI 2.1 is for up to 4k at 120hz or 8k at 60hz with high dynamic range support. If you’re getting a 4k/8kdisplay, then absolutely make sure it has HDMI 2.1, but for this monitor, it’s not needed to use max spec capability of the monitor.

Q: QuestionDoes this monitor pair well with a RTX 2070 Super while using its display port for 144hz 1440p gaming?
Asked by Inferno.
- A:Answer Yes I have it paired with a 2070 and the G-sync compatibility is smooth as butter. You can check some reviews online for the 27GL850 as it's the same panel the GN850 just lost the USB ports.
