Q: is this router compatible with Comcast xfinity
A: Yes, I have Xfinity also. But this is a ROUTER. Any router will work with any internet service as far as I know. Maybe you're thinking about the "CABLE MODEM"? That's the hardware you have to be concerned if it's compatible with your provider to have internet service. I have the Linksys CM3008 Cable Modem that's compatible with Xfinity. And I have this Linksys EA6350-4A AC1200+ Router for the WiFi and wired connection. Or you can get a combination Cable Modem/Router in 1. Call Xfinity and ask what combination Cable Modem/Router is compatible. Hope this helped
A: Yes I named both bands under the same network name and password. My 4k tv connected to the 2.4 band. Netflix etc has been working fine I have 1 tv, a phone, 2 bluray and my ps4 connected Haven't noticed any problems

Q: Is there a setting to extend the range?
A: I got a WiFi range extender for 40 bucks put it at the 50-75% strength region and it fixed my range issues, only thing that sucks is that you have to buy something else.
