Q: Is Bluetooth really required to make this work?
A: Hello, No, this unit does not have a bluetooth function. The cameras communicate directly to the monitor with FHSS WiFi, on the 2.4GHz frequency. It is standalone, and does not require a router to work, or any other devices. Thanks, Lorex
A: According the the manual the 8gb card included can record 28 hours of continuous video. The storage on the monitor/dvr is via micro SD card. It supports up to 32gb. You can not view live feed from the cameras as it is not connected to any network. The system is independent of wifi/internet and only needs power to operate. Any video you watch live must be from the monitor itself. Files stored on the monitor can be transferred to a pc for viewing. The monitor/dvr can be plugged in for continuous operation or may be carried with you remotely around the house. It lasted roughly 4 1/2 hours for me of continuous feed while operating on only battery power. It uses a 3.7v 3000mah LiPo battery.
Q: do you have a wireless security camera with "portable" monitor that can be viewed while traveling?
A: Hello, All of our DVR systems come with free apps for iOS and Android that you could use on your phone for remote viewing. The DVR would require a connection to your home internet (DSL or Cable), and once connected, you can log into it from you phone with either WiFi or on your phone data plan. Please see the FLIR FX camera as an option for remote viewing while away. For the system you are looking at, the camera and monitor cannot be father than 450' apart and would not be suitable for remote view while travelling. Thanks, Lorex
