A: Yes. It took me a couple hours on the phone with Netgear customer service in India. But we eventually figured out that you have to change the extender's network name to the exact same name as your main unit's network name. You can't do it using the app though. You have to do it through the website listed in your paperwork. It works great for me now. I hope you get it sorted out.

A must buy for dead zones
This WiFi extender works so well in a home that has a lot of dead zones. Easy to setup and use. Definitely worth getting.

Even though my house is not big, I face an issue of dead zones for WiFi reception. However, this product allows me to extend my WiFi to my office/game room. I am able to play video games, study for college, and browse the internet stress free. If you’re like me and to lazy to run Ethernet cable through your house for direct source of internet. I would highly recommend buying this product! The product does not have any negative effects at all!

Call customer service
I followed the instructions and I could not get the device to connect to the router after numerous attempts. I was about to return the device. I decided to call customer service and within 30 minutes (probably less) the device was connected to the router and it is working great. I would give 5 stars, but the device would not connect to the router as explained in the instructions.
