We were paying $9.99 per month through our Internet Service Provider for a router/modem and we were fed up. We purchased this in-store with the recommendation of an associate and we are happy we purchased this when we did as we're already saving money. In a years time, it will have paid for itself. The functionality of this product is "average". We didn't notice any increases in speed nor did we experience a broader range of coverage we were promised. It took me hours to configure port forwarding because of an internal issue with the modem that was required to be fixed by Netgear but after all was said and done, we are finally able to play Xbox with two consoles on the same network without any restrictions. Every here and there we will run into a snag but a quick console reset and we're good to go again. 5 stars for the price that you can't beat and 1 star for the basic functionalities we've experienced thus far (2.5 weeks in). It evens out to a good ol' average 3 star rating.

Because we were having problems with multiple devices at home with our current router, and I was in the store making another purchase, I asked the employee if this router would make a difference. He said that it would be 10 times better with wireless range and multiple devices than my existing one. Well, i got all excited, went home and hooked it up and went online to finish setup. Our master bedroom is about 30 feet away (and one flight up). This router really wasn't any better for signal strength (weak at 30ft away) than the cheap one we had previously, except that you can run more devices off of it. The way the guy at the store talked, it was going to be amazing. Not that there's anything wrong with this one, but for the cost, I should've just kept my existing one.

I bought this in the heat of the moment without verifying what specifications needed for my ISP. When I arrived home and began to hook it up, I realized this was only 8x4 and I needed 24x8. BIG difference!! haha!! I packaged everything just as it was when I opened it, and returned it to Best Buy to exchange it for the right one. Customer Service could not have been BETTER!!! Very helpful, courteous, and understanding to my situation! I am so grateful they didn't give me a hard time about having opened the box already! Thank you Best Buy!! You guys KICK FAWKING BUNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It wouldn't let me spell KICK A**, but I got away with FAWKING, hahaha! Sorry Best Buy, but I was giving a compliment! :D

I would say it’s a good router/modem for being on a budget. It comes with an app that you can download and manage your connections as well as switching between 2.4/5.0GhZ networks in case you have a lot of interference, however remember that 5.0Ghz will have a shorter distance vs. 2.4 longer distance, but not as strong as 5.0Ghz. Also having an easy password for WiFi is a nice addition (I personally hate typing up these long number and letter combinations) I haven’t experienced any problems, however when I called Spectrum to hook it up, they couldn’t find that model on their list, so the process took a bit longer.

I bougth this router from a local Best Buy store with the purpose to save $10/month; I didn't want to rent router from Xfinity. But buying this product was a bad decision. On the first few weeks, lost connection frequently happened and I had to restart the router every 2 hours. Then, I contacted the technical support and they helped me with the issue. I thought that the issue will never come again, but I was wrong. The router frequently lost connection at least two or three times in a month. And yesterday, the connection lost again; and the router never work back again.

did my research before I went in to buy this router - so I wasn't surprised at the increase in speed and wifi range over my old router. What did surprise me was how easy it was to install. I thought I'd have to work for quite awhile on setting it up, but it was practically plug and play. The auto-configuration function got it up and running in no time. I live out in the country, and my DSL max speed is only 3mbs - when you're working with such a tight bottleneck, systems slow down pretty quickly - but this router's smart bandwidth allocation system has helped with gaming and streaming video.

Worked great with Xfinity, but they made me replace it because it doesn't have a voice port. Tried to remove voice from my services and they made me pay $20/per month for just internet/TV. I tried to reason with how paying more money for less services makes any sense but could not. The modem worked great with the internet services elsewise, though, and was easy to set up. Long story short, xfinity is horrible, Best Buy is cool, and it's a decent modem/router.

Got this to replace an older 802.11n Netgear router. This provided much faster, far-reaching connection in a single-story 1800 sqft house. Using this as well as 200mbps powerline and I don't feel a noticeable difference between the approaches. Using with Spectrum (Time Warner) 100mbps down and the only hiccups are with Spectrum, never within my home. With 4 people streaming Netflix/Hulu/etc over wifi, the router has no problem keeping things smooth. AC1900 / AC2600 / etc is overkill for my needs.
