20 mb limit bandwidth.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own an ex8000 as well as buying this one. I can only get 20mb down on a 400mb connection with this one. In the area I use this, I don't have other wifi stomping on this. My other wifi extender will give me full speed over 400mb. I can only get full speed if I connect via Ethernet to this one. I also checked the bandwidth of this devices signal. I only checked 5g since that's what I was extending. The bandwidth is much smaller with this unit vs the other one and my router. I'll include a picture showing the default names. You can see the slim tooth pick vs the fat signal of my router. The other extender looks similar to the router. If you want an extender, go for the ex8000 not this one. Seems like a real loss for netgear.

Excellent Range and Worth Every Penny
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased the Netgear WiFi extender, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. The range is truly impressive, covering every corner of my home with strong, reliable WiFi. Setting it up was a breeze, and the performance has been rock-solid since day one. Before getting this extender, I struggled with weak signals and dead zones, but now I have seamless connectivity everywhere. It's definitely worth the money I paid, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to boost their WiFi coverage. This is a must-have device for any home! ---

Setup Difficulties
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to contact Netgear twice to get this connected. The first time I kept receiving an error message. After 1.5 hours on the phone, the extender finally connected. Over the next few days, our phones kept saying not connected and we had to keep reconnecting. I contacted Netgear again this time on the line for an hour. They were finally able to resolve the issue and everything seems to be working great now. I would have gave 5 stars if I would not have add to contact Netgear twice.

It’s extending my WiFi range for sure
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this WiFi extender to expand my security system and add new technologies to my old home my walls aren’t that thick but between the cinder block basement walls and the old sheet rock walls on the first floor my WiFi signal was extremely poor at best. So I picked up this high dollar Netgear Nighthawk extender from Best Buy to combat my lack of decent WiFi range outside of my house and it is performing ok my electronic garage attendant is working properly because of it but the WiFi range could be a little better for the price I’m just hoping when I add wireless cameras the signal will be consistently reliable we will see but for now i guess it was a good buy.

Great speeds and ease of use
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very easy to hookup and connect. Can also work as an access point instead. I originally bought this for my gaming router, but instead went with a full mesh system from netgear. Still have yet to hook this up to it. All in all, did a really good job for what i needed it for.

Q: QuestionDo I have to plug any ethernet cables to the range extender to make it function or just the main power?
Asked by Ben.
- A:Answer Ben, All it needs is its own power cord which is included. I found set-up incredibly simple, and the unit, purchased to extend WIFI to my workshop, works flawlessly. I hope this helps in your decision. ~ VOR

Q: QuestionWhat is the coverage area of this product? Coverage area not mentioned in the technical specs
Asked by Dbasu.
- A:Answer Hi Dbasu, If mounted on a pole 20 -30 feet off the ground outdoors in an open field, This would have a HUGE WIFI signal footprint. But assuming that you'll use this INDOORS, there are too many variables in each situation to give a straight answer, The walls, floors, and ceilings in a home or business, plus their composition and internals -wires, pipes, etc.-can have huge effect on WIFI signals. In my situation I use this product where it must grab a router signal passing through 3 walls, and send it along through 2 more into my workshop and back again, which it does flawlessly. I now have as good WIFI in my semi-detached shop at the rear of the house as in the living room or den. Remember, if it doesn't work in your situation, they'll accept a return. Hope this helps your decision. ~ VOR

Q: QuestionIf mounted outside 20 ft on a pole would it be able to pick up and boost the signal from 200 yards away. the main box is 200 yards from my camper and I want to be able to pick it up.
Asked by buckmaster.
- A:Answer It cannot be mounted outside.
Answered by Taylor
Q: QuestionWill this boost my internet speeds at all? I have century link. Is it compatible ?
Asked by Rafa.
- A:Answer This does not increase internet speed. Speed is dictated by your provider. That said, your router can decrease speed if its old, not configured properly, or has to many things connected to it. Think of the router as the box everything comes into before going out on the internet pipe provided by your ISP. The box in question is an extender, that will only be as fast as your router or internet speed (whichever is slower). The good news is that this thing is a power house and will most likely handle anything you throw at it... As for your second question. its not a question if this extender will work with the provider but rather will it work with your router.

Q: QuestionIf I get this extender will I be able to plug an Ethernet cable to it and plug the cable in my pc that way it is wired?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes you can do that. It’s like having it hard wired

Q: QuestionI have a large home with steel beams in it. Internet is marginal - signal is weak in some areas of the home. When streaming with Roku there's a lot of buffering. Is the Nighthawk EAX80 AX6000 compatible with Google Fiber? Would it help eliminate buffering
Asked by carydav.
- A:Answer I use att fiber which is the same thing. I went from 50 mbps to 250 on my outside patio with apple tv. I just connected the apple tv to extender with a Belkin cat 6a ethernet cable. Im purchasing another for my bedroom as its even worse in there

Asked by Don.
- A:Answer I'm not 200 yards away but my TV stopped buffering after I installed it.
