Downgraded Version of Nokia 6.1
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Apparently on HMD Global Nokia's website the specs outlined for this phone displays 4GB RAM and 64 GB Storage, However; this version has been downgraded to 3GB RAM and 32GB Storage. How is this even possible? The processor is a little slow for me, even though it is running Android One. There is a bit of lag between switching apps. I would go for a different phone to be honest. However; the build quality is impeccable, I love the design and feel of the phone but sadly not the perfformance to my expectations.

Perfect Cell Phone for Me
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Being of a different generation and not in need of a flagship phone, this Nokia 6.1 is a perfect fit for me. It is faster than my previous one and has everything that I will need. It charges fast and holds the charge for a few days. The camera is pretty good. I am very happy with this purchase.

Very Frustrating, expected better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well, it has been 6 months with this phone, and it has been frustrating from day one. I really thought the specs were great for a $269 phone, but it has been a real dud. It constantly freezes in every aspect. User Interface, Camera, every app. It is never ready to work when you need it. I have missed dozens of photos because the camera would not start. I have taken photos (I thought) that were never recorded into a file. I have waited dozens and dozens of times for all the apps to work. Numerous "not responding" pop up messages. Photos below are typical every time I use it: any app, any process. Very disappointed, seems like I have purchased a $269 paperweight.

Best Unlocked International Phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for some unlocked smart-phone which can be used in US and in India as well. I found this best as per my requirement of latest android + support of all LTE bands including B 40 with 2300 mh frequency which is supported by Jio LTE NW in India.

Dependable, good features and great value
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We researched reviews and other sources intensely to find a new phone that had 1) decent speed on benchmarks 2) average to high battery life 3) decent brightness, for outdoor use etc 4) reliable brand quality and reliablity and 5) the newest version of Android, and good manufacturer support for timely upgrades. We were not overly worried about the camera but of course we wanted it to be decent. And obviously, we wanted all this without spending top dollar. If you do the digging we did, you will find it hard to meet all these criteria in one phone! BUT the Nokia 6.1 does it and we recommend it readily. If you want the *fastest* phone with the *brightest* screen and the *longest* battery life, you will have to spend *two or maybe three times the price* of this phone, And even for that money there are compromises, so we are very pleased with the Nokia's value. After a month of use we are please to say that its speed is entirely adequate for our needs. This is a notable factor, because when shopping you will have to think about the processor, and how many cores it has, and the clock speed, and the amount of working RAM. On this phone, those factors are "above average" but not -- on paper at least -- at the flagship level. For most apps I do not think you will notice or care what the paper specs say. It is fast to use. And given the multi-hundred dollar price advantage versus those phones, this is a perfect level for us and I'm sure it is fine for most people. You can have 2 or 3 apps running at once and not notice a major speed hit. Honestly it is more impressive than we expected. If you care more about the camera than anything, well you might want a different phone, but I think that is a mistake on your part (!) because our research shows that fancy camera features always mean a trade-off in some other important area. The Nokia is perfectly fine for most people. It has Carl Zeiss optics, and you can find photographers reviewing the phone who think it is great when using the manual adjustment features. With those caveats, now consider this: the phone is made from a solid block of aluminum. NOT glass. Dropping it might break the front (although it is Gorilla Glass) but you will not be able to shatter the body of the phone. I think this is a huge deal. This phone has "Android One" which is an arrangement whereby Google guarantees to provide software patches and updates, *promptly* for at least 2 years (might be longer, you can check). Our phones came with Android Oreo 8,1 -- and have already had two small updates in 30 days! I think this is another huge deal. We have not traveled far enough to test phone reception in diverse settings, but others have and you can look that up. It is rock solid for us so far. It pairs easily with our Wifi, sends and receives texts including pictures, etc. I can print from the phone to my wi-fi capable printer with almost no effort, really handy. You can connect with any popular streaming service and have music in the background while using other apps. You can watch movies on it. Basically it does all the stuff you might want to do. Other features -- this phone has NFC, which you do not find in some cheaper phones. It has an earphone jack (!). Its fingerprint sensor is very well placed on the back, and works easily. At this price, very few phones are fully water proof and this one does not claim to be. To get that one feature means giving up much of what I like about this one, and probably spending more. I don't think it is worth that trouble -- in my family, nobody has ever dropped a phone into water, and I do not know why it is talked about so much. I think it is overly hyped but in any case you will not get it below $300 with all these other features, period. Put another way -- you *are* likely to drop a phone onto a hard surface sooner or later. This phone should do better in that situation than some all-glass phones with waterproofing. Going forward, I think more and more apps will use advanced connections like NFC, and wi-fi calling, etc. Your wired connectors will be USB type C. You will want the operating system to be current and well-maintained. You will want to be able to make calls, hear and be heard, send texts and emails, and run any mainstream app reliably. This phone does all that, and few phones in this price range can check all those boxes. You may well have different priorities but as of mid-2018 you won't find many --if any -- phones for $270 that can do all that I have described here. So, yes we are very happy with ours!

Not your father's "budget" phone!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In this price range the word "budget" gets tossed around a lot. Well, that used to be a bad word when it came to Android phones and users who wanted a fluid experience and a phone that didn't feel like it would break if you looked at it wrong. Things have come a long way and fast. The build quality in this phone is excellent, Feels like a nice, substantial piece of hardware in hand. Fingerprint sensor, while small, reacts quickly. Camera is good, the app starts quickly and snaps fast. Low light performance is average for a smart phone camera. Overall performance is snappy and the interface is uncluttered thanks to this being an Android One phone. That means you get stock android, no overlays, no carrier apps, just quick and efficient stock Android. It also means you are first in line for security and system updates as well. Battery life has been very good so far. I have 3 e-mail accounts set to push mail as it arrives, I run Pandora every morning when working out and play a couple of games as well and have no problem running all day without plugging in. Highly recommend if you want a high quality price, but don't have a high quality budget (there's that word again!!).

Q: QuestionIs this a dual sim phone? Checked on display at the laurel store and it had only one nano sim slot and an SD card slot
Asked by Austin.
- A:Answer Yes, it has dual SIM support. Both SIMs fit in the same (extra long) tray. Using a second SIM or an SD Micro card are mutually exclusive; you can't have both at the same time.

Q: QuestionI bought this phone here few months ago, I changed my main google email and now some of the apps are "confused". If I were to attempt a hard reset will it erase the unlocked state of the phone and re-lock it.
Asked by RexRed.
- A:Answer Surprised nobody replied yet. In case you haven't attempted yet or anyone has a similar question: If you bought the phone here unlocked, it will remain unlocked upon reset. I believe, but can't confirm, that this is also the case if you use the $50 off promotion for activating in store since your service was set up through Best Buy, not a service provider. Phones come locked when they are sourced through a service provider (ATT, Verizon, etc) and are provided subsidized as part of a service contract (1, 2, etc years). Once the initial contract is up, upon request, the provider will unlock your phone for you (for GSM models at least).
