Great combo. Reliable, smart, and easy to use.

My mother-in-law still regularly uses her land line, but her old cordless phone had battery issues and didn’t reach her office in the far corner of her house. This new system fix her issues and she loves the added features and easy to use design. + Easy setup. The inside of the box lid contains basic instructions. I connected the base unit to the phone line and plugged the additional handset in on the far side of the house. As soon as it was plugged in it notified us that voicemail was currently configured by our service provider, and we skipped the local voicemail setup for now (it is great that it gives this option). +The design of the phone is sleek and comfortable to hold. The buttons and display are large and easy to read. There is a backlight that lights up the display and buttons. The caller ID can be set to be read aloud. There is also a handy locator button on the base to track down a lost handset. + Calls are clear and the volume is great on both ends. With family talking in the background, and the TV on, it was still easy to hold a conversation. It also easily reaches every room of her 2 story, 2600sqft house with no interference or dropped connections. The handset also has a speakerphone mode with great volume. + I was able to easily pair the phone with a generic wireless Bluetooth headset (nothing fancy). There is a clearly marked button for pairing (not buried in a menu). Once both the phone and the headset were in pairing mode, they immediately connected. + We also tried out the call block button (my work phone was the unlucky test). I was expecting to have to enter a number, but you just hit the “call block” button when the phone rings and it prompts the caller to say their name so you can screen the call, then you confirm whether to block them (sends them to voicemail) or not. Don’t worry, if you block someone by mistake, it easy to unblock them in the phone’s menu.

    Excellent Phone System

I've had a Panasonic phone system in my house for the past 15 years or so. This new phone seems to be a successor to the one I am replacing it with. The basics are the same, but it seems Panasonic has done a lot of tweaking over the years. The initial setup is easy enough. Plug everything in, install the rechargeable AAA batteries into the handsets and let them charge for 8 hours or so. The two handsets that come with the system are already connected to the base. Once they are charged up, the phone can be used. I really like that this new system uses standard AAA rechargeable batteries instead of a proprietary battery that other manufacturers use. The handsets are a little larger and the buttons are easier to push than the old set. The buttons are backlit. However, the buttons around the circular pad up top only illuminate around the perimeter of the button. This makes it difficult to see what the buttons are at night; you only know where they are located. Reception and range with this phone system is just as good as the old ones. I get clear calls throughout the house and even my small yard with no issue. The speakers are a little louder and a little clearer, but the difference is not as dramatic as I had hoped it would be. I actually purchased 2 additional handsets so I now have a total of 4. These were way harder to find than they should have been and they are not inexpensive. Additionally, they took 2-1/2 weeks to be delivered. I needed these additional handsets for the phone to be useful to me. Setting them up was extremely simple. Hold a button on the base for 5 seconds and place the handset on its charging base. a few seconds later, it was paired. Now that I have them, the phone system is great. I will likely get another handset or two so I can have handsets in every room on the first floor, one on the second floor and one in the basement. I probably would have been better off getting the set with additional handsets but this is what was available to me. The Bluetooth connectivity works well. I connected 1 handset to a set of headphones (cheap AirPod imitations) and another to a Bluetooth speaker. The speakerphone on the handset is OK but using a Bluetooth speaker makes a huge difference. You just need to remember that you still need to speak into the handset. Using the headphones is the best way to use the BT feature. You can keep the handset nearby. You get the best sound this way. Setup is easy enough once you know what you are doing. It took me a couple minutes to go thru the menus to figure it out. In my experience, Panasonic makes the best phones. The old system I had probably could have kept going but the battery life was dropping quickly and the buttons were becoming difficult to push. The new features are nice too. I have no doubt that this new system will keep going for years to come…

    High Tech Home Phone System!

The Panasonic - KX - TGD892S DECT 6.0 Expandable Cordless Phone Sytem With Bluetooth Pairing For wireless Headphones- Silver is the most technologically the most advanced home phone system I have ever used. Even so it is also easier to use than any other cordless home phone system I have ever used. With the bright back lit screen which is also the brightest I have ever seen makes it easy to see what is on the screen and not only that the numbers and letters are larger than the other three cordless phone systems that I have. We have been through using all of those and they all are to difficult for my wifes mother to see the screen or navigate anything on the menu. Now we have this Panasonic Cordless system and it is also easier to use because of all of the smart features on it. I love all of the automatic call blocking features and how it learns what numbers are okay and which to block. Not only that the system also has one touch block which is also simple to use. Believe me this is important for our household because my mother-in-law wants to talk to everybody even people she should not be talking to. Additional features that really stand out to me are the voice answer which enables you to answer the phone without pushing any buttons or touching the phone because it answers in speaker phone mode when you do this. This is a great feature if you need to answer a call and you are cooking or have your hands full for any other reason. Another feature that could come inhandy is the alrm system which can get you up in the morning or from a nap. It includes a snooze feature a text memo display feature and the ability to store three different alarms on each handset. The other feature that stood out to me as something new to me on a cordless home phone system is the baby alarm feature. This is not just a simple baby monitor either you can actually use it to monitor when you are not at home. When it detects sound it will call the number you assign to it like your cell phone and you can hear what is going on. Seriously though people do not use it to leave your baby at home while you go out shopping or anything. It does not warn you about that in the handbook.so you have to use your own common sense for that one. Otherwise you can use it with another handset from another room in the house like a normal baby monitor. This Pansonic cordless phone system also has a talking caller id which I also though was cool. You do need to program the persons name and number into the handset system for this but it is great to know whether you want to answer the phone or not so you do not need to run for the phone since it says it while still on the base.It also has all of the regular features of a cordless home phone system like caller id an answering system a phone book and other features you would normally find. The bottom line is this phone system will reduce your stress level and make your life easier. It does all of tha for a good price so if you find yourself in the market for one I would seriously consider this Pansonic unit. It is expandable up to six handsets.
