    • Answer The GPU is not user-upgradeable in the traditional sense. Alienware uses soldered laptop GPUs (BGA design), so you cannot swap the GPU like a desktop card.

  • QuestionWhere can i find a list of compatible 64GB RAM options? The Dell website seems like only XMP is OK for 64GB?

    • Answer XMP is supported, but only for 7200 MT/s configurations. You must enable XMP manually via: BIOS → Performance → Extreme Memory Profile → Enable XMP Profile 1. Or via Alienware Command Center (AWCC). Note: Dell only lists 16GB XMP modules officially (e.g., ADATA AOAV724CSV1-BNLS), so 64GB XMP kits (2×32GB) are not officially validated yet.

    • Answer The Laptop RTX 5070Ti comes with 12GBs of VRAM. While I feel all NVidia GPUs this generation should have come with more VRAM, I have not personally run into any issues related to having only 12GB on this machine.

    • Answer This one should work fine, but "best" is subjective, best for you, or best as in absolute best performance? If you want the absolute best performance, the Alienware Area-51 18 inch is hard to beat if you get the model that has the 5090 in it. That's going to be some of the absolute top end performance a gaming laptop of any brand can put forth. As far as best for you, you will have to balance what specs the flight simulator you are using needs, versus the specs of the laptop, and your budget. On top of that, whether or not a laptop or a desktop is actually the better choice for what you want to do overall.
