• A:Answer This is a gas oven. The oven light is electric, as are the burner igniters. This oven required an electric plug in for the light and igniters to work. I can’t imagine the set up you have in your kitchen to need an extension cord for it. However, I would think that would be ill advised. I would consult with someone who installs ovens professionally, to help you resolve the issue you must have in your kitchen, to have asked that question. Good luck!
