- Answer Nothing, you own it. What you pay for monthly is the apps that you set up on it through Amazon (i.e. HBO, Hulu, Sling, Netflix, etc., etc.) You set up and pay for just the ones you're going to use. Cancel whenever you want through the Amazon website.

- Answer YES, the Volume, Mute and Power buttons work for the tv it's connected to. In the set up it will ask you what make/model the the Fire TV Stick connected to, so it will know how to control the volume and other functions.

- Answer No it doesn’t get local channels. It does have ABC and NBC and CBS in certain areas. You can’t get it livestream but you can watch it at a later time.

- Answer Tried the updates...not working. Tried the Developer options...not able to. Attempted to allow or disable Debugging...Not allowed. I guess the overall answer is "Take your chance". But, with Best Buy, one can return if it doesn't do what it's supposed to do.
