  • Q: can you upgrage the RAM to 16G?  (8 Answers)

    By Annie

    • Best answerYes go to Crucial.com and select your iMac model and it will help you select memory upgrade. The unit I purchase came with 8gigs of ram using 2 slots. The iMac 27" 2017 model has 4 slots. I added (2) 8 gig DDR4 2400 sticks of ram which gave me 24 total gigs of ram. This should be plenty unless you are using video editing software and ripping files. Good luck the upgrade is easy. There are many video's on how to install memory on iMac. Just do a google search on how to upgrade memory for iMac 27" model 2017.

    • Best answerYes. If you are using Office 365 then those files are probably stored on your OneDrive. All you have to do is download the Office 365 Mac Apps (usually free with an Office sub) and they will be synced.

    • Best answerThe primary difference will be that most viruses are created for PC computers. Secondly, the PC operating systems are taking on more MAC features, however, MACs are best for graphic applications, and PCs are business computers. The MAC can be used in dual purposes, it has the ability to read/use PC applications, as well as MAC applications. It too is very user-friendly, and rarely crash. I purchased a MacBook in 2008, heavily used till 2017, it crashed once, and that was in 2016.

  • Q: Can I connect addicional display...same inh?  (5 Answers)

    By dataga

    • Best answerYes. You will need a HDMI Thunderbolt adapter, either Thunderbolt 2 or 3 depending on your model. You will need an HDMI cable also. Connect the Thunderbolt cable in the back of your iMac ( the little port with the lightning bolt near it, there should be 2) and then connect the HDMI cable between the adapter and your second screen. Then in System preferences (found under the Apple icon pin the upper left) go to displays. You can either mirror your screen or use your 2nd screen as a second desktop.

  • Q: I want to customize the configuration of the 27" iMac. Can I order that from BestBuy?  (5 Answers)

    By Configuration

    • Best answerBest Buy only lets you choose the processor speed. If you want to change the size of the drive or amount of ram you have to do that from Apple's website. Although it's cheaper to buy extra ram on your own from Amazon and install it yourself; the 27" iMac makes it very easy to do that.
