A:AnswerI bought an Arris brand 32 x 8 Docsis 3.1 modem & a Linksys router. They were listed as capable for & recommended names by my wireless provider. Both work well together, plus cutting out monthly lease fees from the wireless company that never end! The cost for both was less than 1 to 2 yrs. of lease fees charged by the provider for their equipment. Your wireless carrier can tell you what's needed to get transmission & which brands are made for their service. 32 x 8 is the data transmission speed while 3.1 is the software version. Hope this helps.
A:AnswerYou would need ADSL modem in fiber optics area. Good thing if you go from one fiber to another provider the modem will work across the board. Unfortunately your choices are limited to specific brands. D-Link DSL-2540B ADSL Modem would work and ASUS DSL-N10, Netgear D6400-100NAS AC1600 WiFi VDSL/ADSL, One challenge is that 95% of ISP are cable

A:AnswerPlease note that in order to use the 2 ethernet ports of this cable modem, you might require subscription to an additional IP address from your service provider. Please contact your service provider regarding the same.

He ended up running new cable from the hub across the street to my house . Needless to say he got it up and running perfectly and I woulda never got it on my own .
