Every push of every button and when you lift the kettle and set it down. Exactly what I didn't want. Also, another question asks if the tea brewing part is removable and you said yes it is. Well, it is not. Maybe your team should actually know your products before answering questions. Total waste of my time.

The top of the tea steeper is plastic inside, the underside of the kettle’s lid is plastic, and the piece that holds the screen in the spout is plastic. You’d have to remove the steeper and the spout screen and run the unit without the lid (not safe or efficient) to avoid plastic contact.
A:AnswerJust to contradict the other answer, the upper part of the tea steeper (what the basket twists on to) is plastic. That’s obviously going to be submerged in your water. Also, the underside of the kettle’s lid is plastic and the holder of mesh screen on the spout is plastic. Each of those will contact your water when you pour.
A:AnswerI have no idea! But I can assure you with my first-hand experience that this brand is not legitimate! They are nothing but a bunch of scammers. Try contacting them for their warranty a month after use and you’ll see for yourself.

A:AnswerWe clean ours with hot soapy water no more than once a week. Vinegar has worked great to rEmove the scaling caused by our hard water. We probably should “de-scale” more often but we don’t. If we let it go too long I have used a little Barkeepers Friend powder, a sponge, and a little elbow grease to bring it back to new. Hope this helps.
