A:AnswerYou could purchase this item but it's not necessary. The setup you provided already has a ssd. Most of the time when you are wanting a setup (unless you are wanting to reduce loading times for games) you will do one smaller ssd (solid state drive) at about 128 - 256 gb for the windows system files this is going to make loading times for the computer itself much better. You will want to keep the ssd semi empty and fill the hdd (hard drive disk) with the games itself. This is kinda considered what most "average gamers" use. And while the crossover (meaning at what time a SSD and a HDD will cost the same) should be by 2022 until then a HDD is a bit cheaper. SSDs also have a maximum rewrite before they burn out. I was reading the other day that a ssd should last 2 years on 100gb of read and write per day. Since most people use a fraction of that (maybe 1/10th of 100gb daily) means it should last for 7-10 years on decent use.
However seeing your setup. The biggest upgrade you could give yourself is more ram. While 8 is plenty for most games. If the kids are gonna want to play the latest triple A games (call of duty, battlefield, far cry, Etc. Etc.) Then having 16gb of ram is going to give you the biggest improvement. Make sure you find something that is a 2x 8gb instead of a single 16gb. Seeing as you already have 8gb you would be best finding 2 identical 8gb sticks but it's not necessary to have identical ram.
TL:DR : if you have the extra money to drop, then yes buying a SSD for your setup would be nice and would load games (when you launch them) much faster (anywhere from 30 to 80% faster than a standard 5200 rpm hdd). But you'll find yourself with just as much of a "faster" PC by buying another 8 GB ram stick (or 2 if it came with 2x 4gb)
A:AnswerIt should, but you'll be limited to 3Gb/s by the older SATA 3G. I know it's going to sound cheesy but you might actually consider hook-and-loop fasteners or stretch-to-remove tape and just adhere it to the existing bay chassis.
A:AnswerThank you for your inquiry.
Regarding your query of the SSD , we would like to inform you that part#CT1000MX500SSD1 is compatible with the system late 2012 27" iMac desktop and will work in it. However, we are sorry to inform you that the SSD does not come with 2.5 inch to 3.5 inch converter.
If you have any further query we welcome your reply.

A:AnswerYup, just make sure to clone or transfer your files to this one if you wanna retain your files and settings. Since this looks like an older desktop pc, though, I would probably buy an adapter tray as well. That way it can fit where the hard drive used to be without flopping around while moving your pc...
A:Answerif it runs on windows it should. The computer does not really know what kind of drive is in it. As long as it is SATA, I guess it would work. Do not forget, you have to format these SSD's prior to installing them or windows will not recognize them.
A:AnswerAs a macbook pro should have 2.5 inch hdd setup then yes it should install just fine. However due to the age of the laptop you might not notice any major loading differences as it probably is not updated enough to see the true power of the SSD. But yes it should install and load just fine. Just know that if you are replacing the main hard drive this will get rid of everything on the old hard drive including the system OS.

A:AnswerIf I'm seeing the image of the motherboard correctly, it looks like it has sata ports on it. This drive will be able to plug into it if that's true. Just be aware that you need to plug in both data and power cables into the drive, so if the power supply doesn't have sata power already then you may need a molex to sata power adapter.
