- Answer There is a very user friendly setup, just follow the instructions and it will prompt you through each step. I'm a very old lady and it was so simple. :)

- Answer Living room, view, TV, Stereo, entry way, game boxes, where most burglars go after they have your stuff. Oh yes, higher up where you cant touch it walking, not in the kitchen, lens will get foggy.

- Answer This is not an outdoor camera. Anything hooked under eaves is still subjected to wind, rain, snow. They make an outdoor camera.

- Answer Yes, it will send you an email alert, and a snapshot (not live video) if you have set this up during install. However, I have found this to become somewhat of a nuisance as I have had trouble with motion being overly sensitive. Too many alerts!

- Answer You won't be able to have it authenticate through a web page, just standard wifi authentication protocols.

QuestionDifferent viewing options?How do I view what this camera records? I've seen a few answers to similar questions that you can watch the footage in real time from a smartphone app. Is that app a one-time purchase or a service you'd need to pay for monthly? I understand the camera itself doesn't store recordings (like, there's no memory card inside it). The D-Link website offers a service for this? How does that work? Do I log into my website account when i get home and get to view the footage from the day? Do you have to pay for a subscription to the footage storage and viewing capabilities on the site? Is there anything else you have to do? If the camera is tampered with, is the footage still backed up on the site for me to access (prior to the camera being shut off/destroyed by the intruder, that is)? Does it continuously record so you select a time frame of the day to view the footage from a particular window, or does it only show the times during the footage that motion was detected? Sorry this is long.

- Answer Hopefully this partial answer will help. There is a program called "D-View Cam" available for free from D-Link. If you have a computer on the same LAN as the camera(s) you can set them to record as desired and the video is stored on the local computer. There is no fee for this. I have seen, but do not personally have, a recorder offered by D-Link that does the same thing. I believe that that service is without any recurring fees. There are third party programs that offer recording and remote viewing. I have not information on them however.

- Answer It is visible...depending on where you locate it. There is a green light on the front of the camera that is very visible at night.

- Answer Yes...assuming it is a later model compatible with D-Link's web site. I believe all D-Link cameras are compatible with the application, "D-View Cam".

My neighbor wants to install a camera like mine on her garage which is about 25 feet from where my camera is installed on my garage. She does not have a wireless router---my question is, can she install her camera onto her computer but use my wireless router settings to watch on her own computer?
