There is a program called "D-View Cam" available for free from D-Link. If you have a computer on the same LAN as the camera(s) you can set them to record as desired and the video is stored on the local computer. There is no fee for this.
I have seen, but do not personally have, a recorder offered by D-Link that does the same thing. I believe that that service is without any recurring fees.
There are third party programs that offer recording and remote viewing. I have not information on them however.
