- Answer I can confirm there is a extra ram dimm slot. ddr4. Also an open hard drive space for 2.5" hard drive or ssd. Nice laptop. my buddy bought one and i ordered another 8 gig ram $40 and a 1T 2.5"wd hard drive $40. should be a nice machine.

- Answer It does not have a built-in DVD drive, but you can hook up an external CD/DVD drive via one of its USB ports. Inexpensive external CD/DVD drives are available for as little as $20-$30, even at BestBuy.

QuestionWhat is S mode? What is it used for?

- Answer S mode is used to keep people from installing software that has not been added to the Windows Store. This is an effort by Microsoft, supported by Dell, to make their computer more like a Macbook which can only run Apple software. This does make the computer more secure and safer for users, but you have to be willing to accept that you can only use programs and software that Microsoft has approved. You cannot easily disable S Mode unless you reinstall the operating system or sign in with a Microsoft account to disable it.

- Answer Wouldn't recommend. This computer lacks the processing power and video card to run a majority of games. This computer is more for internet browsing, work, and school. Not gaming.

- Answer No, this cannot be upgrade to Windows 10 Professional until after you purchase it. It is easy enough to upgrade it to Pro by purchasing the upgrade through the Windows Store for $99.

- Answer Notebook SSDs come in either 2.5" form factor or as the newer M.2 which uses a slot similar to DIMM. Neither option is soldered on and is user-replaceable.

- Answer Dell offers two monitors for this laptop, the HD, and FHD. This unit has the HD screen, which is like a 720p TV, so it is HD. The FHD option is like a 1,080p TV screen, which is much more defined. Is it a nice image, yes. Is it the best you can buy, no. Hence the lower price. Still, unless you are doing a lot of picture or video editing, or gaming, it should be good enough for most people.

- Answer The $349 price you saw the other day was an early "Black Friday" special. I saw the special, bought, and am glad I did -- it is an absolute steal at that price. You'll get a second bite at the apple on Black Friday. The computer is listed at the $349 in the Black Friday Ad (you can review it online on the Best Buy website) so it will again be sold for $349 on Black Friday.

- Answer I have installed Adobe Photoshop CC and Adobe Lightroom CC on my new laptop and these programs run just fine. You should however have an external hard drive to keep all your photos on as they will eat away space fast if you keep them on the computer.

- Answer When you turn on the computer, the Windows 10 setup process, which takes about 30 minutes to complete, begins. The wireless connection is set up during the installation process. When the Windows setup process is completed, you are good to go.

- Answer Yes, very simply. After installation and registering your laptop, you can upgrade, for FREE, to Windows 10 Home edition. You cannot revert to Windows 10 S afterwards. The difference between the two versions. Windows 10 S stands for "Security" mode and is more robust as such, in only allowing you to install certified and safe programs from the Microsoft or Google Play stores. Windows 10 Home allows you to use any software, Microsoft, 3rd party and so on, just as you have in any other edition of windows. You lose a few security configurations from Windows 10 S, but, nothing that will jeopardize your system or from anything already installed, Microsoft Security Essentials, Anti-virus, etc.

- Answer There was an empty memory slot and I added 8 bringing it to 16GB with zero problems. (Also a space to add another SSD). Immediately recognized the additional memory. Not sure of the max, but can verify at least 16 is doable.

- Answer Slots? It has an empty space and connector for one 2.5" SATA HDD or SDD. It also has one occupied M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 socket that can take a 2280 SSD, but already comes with an SSD installed for Windows 10.
