QuestionCan I use my Bose 901 series 6 with equalizer with this product

- Answer Hello. Bose 901's with an equalizer require a receiver with either a tape loop, or 'Pre-in/Main Out' jumper ports. Unfortunately, such connectivity options have long since disappeared from AV receivers owing to the lack of demand. The used market offers plenty of options, but I can think of nothing current from any brand which supports the use of Bose 901's with an equalizer. Bose 901's also require something with quite a beefed-up amplifier to get the best out of them.

- Answer I don't know how you could. There are 4 assignable Audio In connections, but no Audio In connections to route the equalized signal back to the receiver. The receiver does have built-in equalizer functions, though.

QuestionI have 7 inside speakers including a subwoofer, Also I have a second zone outside with multiple speakers. Will this receiver work for my needs. I want to run the outside zone separately. Thanks

- Answer 7 channels plus a powered sub can be driven. If you want to drive 2 speakers in second zone with the onboard amp, you'll only be able to drive 5 plus sub inside. You could drive 7 plus sub inside and pass preamp signal to a separate amp for 2 outside speakers or you could get a 9 channel amp. The cheapest solution that allows shared source across 2 zones is to get this 7 channel amp for inside and get a second 5 channel HEOS compatible amp for outside (cheaper than 9 channel amp).

QuestionCan this S970H AVR connect to DLNA devices? I have a NAS that I use to playback 192-24 Hi-Res and 5.1 surround sound music on my current AVR. I don't want to loose that ability.

QuestionI have a secondary display 1080p and other 4K. Will The monitor output 1 and 2 work at either display ? I still have old device with HDM 2.0 (1080i and 1080P). Will it work on this receiver at any HDMI input ?

- Answer A second Television can be connected to the Monitor 2 output. The receiver will not output two different resolutions simultaneously. The video resolution will default to the lowest of the two. For example, connecting a 4K TV and a 1080P TV, the receiver will output 1080p to both. If two 4K televisions are connected, the receiver will output 4K to both.

QuestionIs there a separate volume control for the center speaker? This would allow having the dialogue be louder than the other sounds that would be coming out of the left/right and rear speakers.

- Answer After you do your room calibration you can add an offset for the speakers in decibels. That's how I've done it. I believe the unit also has a dialog enhancement function and my even have the ability to spread the center channel into the other front speakers.

- Answer This receiver should be a nice upgrade to what you have now. Technology improvements include simpler connections, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It also has the latest sound processing modes (DTS and Dolby) along with other spacial settings. TV connects via HDMI Monitor Out, and there are 6 other assignable HDMI inputs for your DVD/Blu-ray, cable/satellite, game modules, etc. If your current sound peripherals don't support HDMI, you could connect them via the 4 assignable RCA jacks.

- Answer The DenonAVR-S970H does work with Alexa. The HEOS Home Entertainment skill for Amazon Alexa lets you use your Echo devices to issue voice commands to the AVR-S970H. You can easily switch inputs, control volume, and playback on the receiver and other HEOS-enabled devices. Alexa can also help you search for music and stream different content to different rooms in your multi-room HEOS system.

- Answer Hello, only one HDMI ARC input/output is provided. However, Zone two can be used to play back another TVs audio using an alternate audio input. Coax, Optical, or analog.
