QuestionMy Dyson charger was left unplugged in error. Battery is dead. When I plug it back in, it doesn't work and no charging light. Does unplugging harm the battery? The vacuum has only been used once. How long will it take to start working again?

- Answer The batter has lost polarity It is possible to re flash te batter but best left to a professional. Also batteries are available from aftermarket companies. They are known to be much less expensive and good quality

QuestionDoes this fusing v7 work well on carpet?

- Answer It works very well on large room carpets and less well on light carpets because they will lift and clog the vac. Smaller carpets should either be taken outside and shaken or you can use the smaller attachments to vacuum them as they hang.

QuestionHi - We live near the beach and have a dog. I went through 2 vacuums in no time because the hair and sand is not getting picked up, and/or I have to dump it every 5 mins. I have a budget, Which is 340 or less for pet hair, and sand.

- Answer Hi, I have the v7 dyson and honestly i don’t recommend this vacuum for you. Although the max setting is strong enough to pick up dog hair and sand. The vacuum only last 6 minutes on Max, 30 minutes in regular. I feel that is not enough time to clean for you especially when charging takes 5 hours.

QuestionDo you have to hold the trigger while you vacuum, or will it stay on? The footnote under "40 minutes runtime" seems to imply you have to hold it.

- Answer Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. V7 Advanced Origin will have a floor tool that has a spinning brush bar. If your flooring can accept a brush bar with no issues, you should be fine. You may wish to check with your flooring manufacturer, if there are any concerns over brush bar usage. The brush bar on our cord-free machines cannot be disabled. QuestionWill this vacuum work on thick shag carpet???

- Answer It is more labor intensive on shag but works fine. Stairs with thick carpet would not be an issue at all. For floors, we put ours on low suction setting and mostly pull the unit.

QuestionI purchased the newer models of the dyson cordless vacs. None of them work at 10k feet elevation. Do you know if the older models would work? I was told the newer models have a barometric pressure sensor built in it.
