QuestionWill the ink dry out if not used very much?

- Answer Hello bob. The ET-8500 uses ink-jet technology. If the printer sits without usage for some time, you can potentially have print head issues. Therefore, we recommend doing user maintenance such as nozzle check printouts and head cleanings to help avoid ink clogging on the printer. QuestionHi, can this print duplex? If not, can you recommend an Epson eco tank that does photo and duplex please?

- Answer Yes it does high quality prints on both sides. But you cannot print on both sides of a photo paper since only one side of photo paper is good for printing.

QuestionThere is a little ink left in each of the bottles, and now room in the tanks on the printer after the initial priming process. May I now empty the bottles into the tanks so it's not wasted?

QuestionHow can I get my new Epson ET-8500 printer to close the Output Tray automatically? Maybe after a period of time or when the power shuts down. The printer's firmware is updated. The only option I see is to close it manually through the printers LCD screen.

QuestionDifference between Epson 8500 and 8550. I know the 8550 prints the larger 13 x 19 size. Are there any other differences?

- Answer Hello Sybille. Both printers feature identical specifications, including print speeds. Aside from the difference in the largest supported paper size, there is a difference in scan bed size. QuestionHow can I print in 1:1 scale with Epson Smart Panel App? It always prints images and documents with wrong sizes (measures differ from design to print by several mm). I have the correct settings for paper size and type in printer and app. Thanks!

- Answer Hi Hamt, Make sure you are set Smart Panel to print with borders. The app expands borderless prints slightly to fill the sheet you are printing on. - Answer Hello GP.. The ET-8500 works with Epson Iron-on Cool Peel Transfer paper, which can be used with t-shirts. Please note we have not tested other brands of transfer paper with the machine. QuestionWill this printer still print in black and white if one of the other colors are out but black ink is still available?

- Answer Hello Somba. You want to ensure there is enough ink remaining in the printer for all colors, as there are no temporary print options when the tank is expended. - Answer It should print flyers exceedingly well. If large patches of color or,black, will need some drying time. Plain Letter paper works very well. Tray holds 50 sheets, I think, so depending on quantity needed, you will be filling tray again.

- Answer Yes, there are 2 separate black ink bottles - regular and photo black. So you don’t run out of black for photos by printing a lot of text.
