Q: QuestionWhat kind of water do u put in this? Does it have a filter if u use tap water or should you get bottled/jugged water? How long does it hold ice before melting? Also will it mess up if;we wanted to unconnect it every night &say cover it up to protect it

• A:Answer Hey, Lamps! The model you selected can use either tap or bottled water and does not have a filter. The icemaker can hold the ice for up to 8 hours and will need to be completely dry before storing to protect it. ~Courtney

Q: QuestionI have had this ice maker for approx. 6 months. Over the last couple of weeks it has frozen over where the ice is made. Frozen over almost an inch thick at times. What causes that, and how do I keep it from happening?

• A:Answer The unit is designed to trickle water over the metal grid to make ice. If the water is really cold - ice can build up that does not slide off easily when the ice making cycle pauses to allow the ice to fall into the bin. As well if there are any minerals and water deposits on the grid - it isn't quite as slippery and ice can stick and build up. One trick many people use is to spray the grid with Pam which makes the ice slide off.

• A:Answer The unit is easy to clean - flush with a mixture of 10% white vinegar and water and wipe interior with a mixture of mild hand dishwashing soap and warm water. Remember to flush the unit repeatedly with potable water to eliminate the vinegar and soap residues. Portions of the interior are stainless & other portions are plastic.

Q: QuestionI have this ice maker how can I get the cubes thinner? I can't get it to go up in tempature. I love but was making perfect size and I think I changed something now I can't get it to do it again.

We are happy to help! ​When installing your ice maker, it is recommended that you find a location for your ice maker that is protected from direct sunlight and other sources of heat (i.e.: stove, furnace, radiator). Place the ice maker on a level surface. Make sure that there is at least 6 inches of space between the back and sides of your ice maker and the wall. Also note that the cooler the ambient temp, the more ice cubes the unit will produce. Should your unit work but not produce ice, ensure that the ambient temp is lower than 86℉. I hope this helps.
