QuestionAfter a cold night, the camera begins the start-up procedure, flashes through the Garmin logo and warnings, then the screen comes on briefly with a white screen (no picture), at which time the unit auto restarts. Is this simply a temperature problem?

- Answer Mine went black screen and never was right afterwards. I tookk mine out of the car daily once the temperature got in the 30's.

QuestionIs it possible to hard wire the device in an effort to avoid cable-clutter? It goes without saying that some minimum cable will be visible where it connects with the camera. It would be nice to minimize the source-cable-clutter from the power source.

- Answer Here in California it's illegal as well but I (because you HAVE to) mounted it right under my rear view mirror and haven't had a problem (YET). I've been pulled over with it ok and mounted and didn't hear anything about it. It's pretty small. SHOULD be ok.

QuestionI have a 4 USB port car charger that charges at 2.4 amps each port. Can I use one of the ports to power the camera with a longer mini USB cable ?

- Answer I've never tried to charge it this way but it seems like it's the same thing as you charge the unit through ac outlet so I'd say yes, it can.

- Answer Yes, I already do this. I purchased a second mount so that it would be easier to move it between vehicles. The mounts stay where they are and the camera and cable are all I move.

- Answer Yes, the quality of the video is very good, and it adjusts well to darkness......but the videos would likely be a bit darker than if it were not recording through the tinted portion.
