  • QuestionWe just purchased a frost free GE freezer just like this but wire shelves . We plugged it up for it to cool. We haven’t put any food in yet. It has frost starting to form on the Inside. Is this normal?

    Asked by Stacey.

    • Answer Hello, thanks for reaching out to us and congratulations on your new purchase! We understand that having frost in a frost free freezer can be alarming, and we apologize. This could be happening for a few reasons: the shelves are wet, the door is left open, or the doors are open too frequently. To troubleshoot, make sure the door is not held open even by packaging, open the door less often, and make sure the shelves are dry. We hope this helps, and if you have any additional questions, please reach out.- Kianna@GEA

  • Questionmy doorway is only 26 inches wide. can the door be removed and replaced by the delivery people, and do you handle this?

    Asked by handsome.

    • Answer Hello there - Thanks for connecting with us! The door can be removed, but doing so will only impact the depth of the freezer. It will still be 28 inches wide with the door removed and since the door is about 4.7 inches thick, the depth of the unit will decrease to only 27.3 inches if that is removed. As far as who would remove the door, that is something you'd have to arrange with Best Buy directly. We hope this information is insightful. Take care, Kelsey@GEA

  • Questionwhat is difference between" turbo freeze" and "flash freeze"?

    Asked by trainman.

    • Answer Hey there, and thanks for taking the time to reach out to us. We appreciate your interest in this upright freezer and its options! The Turbo Freeze option on this unit is a feature that allows for a fast freeze – it restores the temperature to its lowest setting. It can be particularly useful after frequent or extended door openings that have disrupted the internal temperature. The Turbo Freeze setting will last for 8 hours, unless you turn it off before time is up. Flash Freeze is a more general term that refers to freezing food more efficiently; we don’t use that specific term for our GE appliances. We hope this helps to clarify the matter – we are confident the Turbo Freeze option, and other features of this freezer, would be a great fit for your needs. If you have any other questions or concerns, we’re always glad to help. All the best! -Sarah@GEA

  • QuestionA new stand up GE freezer model FUF14DLRCWW is still hot after being plugged in for 5 hours, what troubleshooting things should I try ?

    Asked by M.

    • Answer Hello there - Thanks for reaching out! We hate to hear that your freezer isn't getting cold and we do apologize. Please allow 24 hours for the freezer to reach the set temperature. If 24 hours have already passed and the freezer isn't cold, try adjusting the temperature to a colder setting. Also make sure that the door is closing and sealing properly. If the above troubleshooting doesn't resolve the issue, make use of the warranty by scheduling service. You can schedule an appointment by calling 1-800-432-2737 or on our website. We hope that this helps. All the best! -Mikayla@GEA
