A:AnswerHi alicew- Thanks for your purchase! We are happy to provide assistance. Yes, you must remove the shipping material just before sliding the washer into place. There will be a cardboard base and cardboard cone under the unit. See page 19 of the Installation Instructions: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90576.pdf - Make sure the washer is level. The more the legs are extended, the shakier the washer will be during operation. Unbalanced loads can cause the washer to vibrate more. Stop the machine and redistribute the load if necessary. See the following troubleshooting link- TOP LOAD WASHER WALKING OR VIBRATING: http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17445 - We hope this is helpful. A:AnswerHi Pam- Thanks for choosing GE. We are sorry to hear of this experience. If you need an additional rinse, we suggest to select Deep Rinse with the Drain & Spin cycle. Loosely load items in the washer basket. Overloading may negatively impact wash performance. Adjust the load size accordingly. Use only liquid diluted fabric softener. Pour into dispenser, using amount recommended on package. Add water to dispenser until it reaches the maximum fill line. For reference, see page 14 of the Owner's Manual: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90576.pdf - If you need further assistance, we encourage you to contact GE Appliance Service at 1-800-432-2737 or conveniently schedule an appointment online: http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/service/ - We hope this is helpful. A:AnswerHi Frustrated- We are sorry to hear of the issue with the spin cycle and glad to help. If an out-of-balance condition is detected by the washer the Spin light will blink during the remaining
portion of the cycle and will stay illuminated for a short time after cycle completion. When this occurs, the washer is taking actions to correct the out-of-balance condition and complete the cycle normally. In some cases, the washer may not be able to balance the load and spin up to full speed. If you notice the load is more wet than normal at the end of the cycle, redistribute the load evenly in the wash basket and run a Drain & Spin cycle. For reference, see pages 13 and 25 of the Owner's Manual: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90576.pdf - We hope this is helpful. A:AnswerI've the same machine for a month. No problems..yet! My last machine (12 yrs old) had the exact same issue you're having tho, which is why I bought a new 1.
I did a little research on the issue before buying the new 1. Since the water is draining ok it's not the pump. If you're sure it's not the switch (how do you know?) it could be the clutch or motor. The motor can sometimes spin in 1 direction ok but not the other.
Try restarting the cycle with no clothes in it and see if it spins ok. Sometimes a heavy load gets the spin cycle out of sync
How old is your washer?
Google..."washer drains but doesn't spin" for more info...good luck!

A:AnswerHi MarkA- Thanks for choosing GE! Some vibration during the spin cycle is normal. On 1995 and newer top load washers, you must remove the shipping material just before sliding the washer into place. Do not remove the shipping material prior to sliding into place, since using the washer on a cart or dolly without it can cause the washer to be noisy and vibrate. Consult your Installation Instructions for removal of the shipping material: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90576.pdf - When leveling the washer, the more the legs are extended, the shakier the washer will be during operation. Unbalanced loads can cause the washer to vibrate more. Stop the machine and redistribute the load when necessary. A:AnswerHi spicysquid- Yes, you can select Deep Rinse option with the Drain & Spin cycle. The unit will fill with water right from the start for rinse and then continue with Drain & Spin. Thanks for choosing GE! SUEatGEA
A:AnswerHi CV45- The washer has bleach and fabric softener dispensers that automatically operate with wash cycle. It does not have a detergent dispenser. Step 1. Add fabric softener to the fabric softener dispenser. Add the recommended amount of detergent or detergent packet/pod to the bottom of the wash basket before adding clothes. Step 2. Loosely add items/clothes around the
agitator. Close lid. Note: Unit will not start with lid open if Precise Fill is selected except on Bulky
Items cycle. Step 3. Select wash cycle, options, and load size. Step 4. Press Start. For reference, see pages 6 and 15 of the Owner's Manual: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90576.pdf - Also, any size comforter will wash properly in our washers as long as the comforter fits below the balance ring of the washer tub and is not stuffed in the tub tightly. Thanks for choosing GE. Keep in touch! SUEatGEA
