A:Answer When you turn the oven on an OVEN EXHAUST fan (you can see it as a “lip” at the rear in the pictures) will turn on (and off) all by itself. There is no explicit control. It fully manages itself. It is almost imperceptible from a noise perspective.
That aside, there is no “hood” fan (if you will). You will need an over-range microwave or dedicated hood for that. If you purchase a suitable GE microwave (as I have), the two units will employ Bluetooth to talk to each other (you have to pair them but it’s not hard to do so). This enables the cooktop to automatically turn the overhead fan and light on, when you turn a “burner” on (for example). I’ve never waited long enough to see if it will also turn the overhead fan/light off. It may do so, but I’ve never waited long enough (I just press the buttons on the microwave as I leave the kitchen). The oven exhaust, as mentioned, is 100% self managing (and only turns on when the oven is on … or is still warm from a previous use).
