These filters are True HEPA filters, meaning they are rated to remove 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns in size and larger. The CADR rates for this unit are as follows: This unit is rated to remove Dust from: 320 cubic feet per minute (cfm), Pollen from: 300 cfm, and Smoke from: 300 cfm. QuestionMy family room does not have a door from it to another room, so it cannot be closed off. I want to use it in the family room. Will this work well under these conditions?

It also depends on how many sources of contamination or outside air are coming in from the other room, as well as the size of that room. QuestionI have an 87 year old going to use this. How easy is it to clean and maintain?

- Answer It is very easy to maintain and doesn't require any tools or even a lot of dexterity to clean and change the filters. The smaller filters, which are still about 6" x 8", have tabs on them to make it easier to pull them out.

QuestionIs this the best unit for new construction chemicals and off gassing? I have severe sensitivity and our new bathroom will be off gassing glues, plastics, acrylic and formaldehyde for sometime... we went greenguard on most product but still problem thanks!

QuestionThe Lights are all on everything is put on right but how do I know its working if it makes no noise? Not even a fan noise. Nothing. I can't even tell if its really working. I've had it 2 days.only made noise the 1st time it was turned on. Now its silent.

When running the lowest speed (germ mode), the noise level is pretty acceptable, I can watch TV with it running nearby. I recall seeing other reviewer had germ mode at 41dB, this maybe because they were measured differently (different distance, height........)
