QuestionI know it says up to 8TB only, but I want to use two 14TB drives in Windows 10. Anyone tried drives larger then 8TB and have them work in Windows 10? I need to purchase this tomorrow so any quick answers would be great! Thanks!

- Answer Yes, sorry to say that I owned 2 WD large hard drives...both went bad within a few weeks of installation. The 1st drive was a 10 TB that went bad about 4 months after installation. I took it back and exchanged it for a 14 TB drive. The 14 TB went bad even quicker. When I saw that Best Buy had the large capacity BaraCuda 6 and 8 TB drives, I bought one. Then a couple weeks later, I bought a 2nd BaraCuda 8 TB drive...both are working great in my desktop as has been my experience with that brand. The other brand I have always had very good luck with was Fujitsu SCSI drives...but I think SCSI drives are mostly used in servers now.

QuestionMy hard drive stopped connecting and is unable to be "serviced." Will this manually connect to my computer so I can recover my files and put them on a new hard drive???

- Answer You should be able to as that's also the reason why I purchased this item. Note that if your drive doesn't spin up or if there's some other mechanical problem then this won't help and you'll need to hire a data recovery service to retrieve your data.

QuestionAm enjoying using this unit. Bit surprised by the force needed to insert drives, guessed incorrectly you're supposed to press the eject button while doing so. Can I use this (or any similar) unit to copy to two target drives simultaneously?

- Answer Yes, that's one of the frequent uses for this kind of dual driver docking station. Depending on the USB standard in play and the speed of the drives, you could see a significant I/O bottleneck.

- Answer yes it will work I was in the same situation I had an old hard disk (3.5 inch disk drive) from old computer and laptop hard disk (2.5 inch disk drive ). It was plug and play I was able to obtain my info from both drives. Plug and play no hassles.

QuestionI picked this up to hopefully back up a couple old drives. When I insert the 3.5" sata the power led goes away and nothing is processing. When I take out the drive, the drive seems to be a bit hot. Do I have a faulty product? Need help troubleshooting.

- Answer Sounds like the drive is faulty. You might try attaching it directly to an eSATA port, or by using a USB-to-SATA cable (the kind that comes with an external storage drive like a WD My Passport or similar). Otherwise, take it to a computer repair shop and ask someone to verify it's working.

- Answer Thse docking station slots have SATA connectors. You can plug in either HDD's or SSD's with SATA connectors. I don't know about other vendors, but I took a Western Digital, "My Book" and removed the internal SATA drive from the housing. Works in this dock like any other SATA drive.

- Answer Works fine with ps4 I got this for loading software on game consoles have had no issues with reloading drives. Just make sure formatted properly and put in proper file. Works perfectly when backing up games on multiple drives.
