• A:Answer You can connect your source to them without wires- just like you would with BT wireless headphones- pair them with your device and enjoy. Note, there is a wire between the two speakers. The amplifier for both channels is in one speaker (so it also needs an AC power cord), and it sends the signal to the other via regular speaker wire.

Q: QuestionSince these are powered, can I just get a 3.5mm outlet connection from my laptop with rca connections and plug into the rca input of the powered speaker and use them for my laptop computer?

• A:Answer Definitely. You can use 3.5 to RCA or 3.5 to 3.5. It has inputs for both. One limitation- if you want to use a powered sub with them, the RCA Sub Out on the Insignia's is designed incorrectly and outputs max volume regardless of the setting of the speakers' own remote volume control. If you adjust the level only from the PC, that can work, but be aware you won't be able to use the remote that comes with the speakers if you use a sub.

• A:Answer First things first, always check your sound source. If you are using the aux input with the small stereo plug, make sure it is inserted all the way. If using the rca jacks, make sure you have them both firmly seated. Don't know what you are using for a source of sound, but if you are using a headphone jack of a television, check your audio settings make sure it is sending an output in stereo. Check the speakers function with an independent sound source like the bluetooth from your phone if thats convenient, or a dvd or cd player if you have one handy. If the source isn't the issue, then perhaps you have run into something I have run into which I will describe as follows. The left speaker in your description is almost certainly the non powered (aka satellite) speaker (ignore everything following if that isnt your case and revert to checking your source). I have and continue to have some difficulty in firmly seating the speaker wire into the spring clips on the back of the satellite speaker. Check the polarity of your speaker wires. There are two types of wire in the cable I received, one looking like copper the other looking silver colored. Make sure the copper looking wire is connected to the same speaker connection color (either red or black) on both ends (the powered speaker end and the satellite speaker end). If that matches, and you are hearing audio out of the powered speaker and you have confirmed your source audio, then you may hear some audio if you play with the wire connecting to the spring clips on that left satellite speaker.

Q: QuestionI'm looking for speakers to hook up to my TV with NO wires running from the TV to the speakers. I have a power source nearby and if the speakers require a wire running between speakers, that's OK but must be wireless from TV to speakers. Any suggestions?

• A:Answer The only way to accomplish this that I would be happy with (and what I am doing for listening to my TV with wireless headphones) is with two Bluetooth AptX Low Latency adaptors, one to transmit the sound from the TV and the other to receive and feed it to any powered speakers. Most of these adaptors can be switched between transmit and receive modes, and by buying a matched pair you can be assured of compatibility. Although this speaker has Bluetooth built in, it is not low latency, and the delay will drive you crazy. Imagine seeing a baseball hit and hearing the crack a split second late, or dialogue not in sync with lip movements. Unfortunately, there are very few Bluetooth AptX LL devices available yet. Note, regular AptX, while lower in latency than standard BT, is still noticeable to most people. Standard BT delay is around 200 milliseconds, AptX around 100, and AptX LL around 20.
