• A:Answer This device is shaped like a cassette tape, so it will plug into a cassette deck like, for example, one in your car. From there, the attached cable can be plugged into the headphone jack on an external audio device. So... since you asked about MP3s, you could plug the provided cable into the headphone jack on your portable MP3 player (iPod or other similar player) or a smartphone or really anything that has a standard headphone jack. In short, this device allows you to send audio out of a headphone jack directly into a cassette deck.

Q: QuestionMy car has no 35mm jack. Does this replace the need for it, or plug into one to use?I am trying to find a way to use a bluetooth streaming device that plugs into a 35mm jack, which my car does not seem to have. IO am trying to find something to use instead of the jack, like an adaptor that gives me a jack input for my new device accessory that would plug into the jack ln adaptor and have the adaptor work via tape deck or lighter plug. Any ideas? Car is a 2005 Ford Taurus with just tape deck, no CD player. Can;t find the jack so I don't think it has one.

• A:Answer No - the cable on this adapter plugs into a source (i.e. a 3.5mm output / headphone jack) and carries that sound (music, podcast, etc.) through to the tape player in a home or car stereo. It essentially turns your tape player into an AUX-in by way of the tape cassette & cable, but it cannot take sound/signal from an already recorded tape and send it the other way (i.e. out the cable and into an input).
