A:Answer I bought this having read all the information and watching four YouTube videos on converting a digital signal to analog for speakers. Based on the product info for six different brands of coaxial/opitical digital to analog converters, and watching the connecting with not only sound coming from the speakers, but also Dolby surround effects claimed to be present, I bought the Insignia brand at my local Best Buy store. I connected it to the opitical output cable from the television, and the RCA jacks from the ceiling mounted speakers. The speakers didn't work. I found that the converter did change the opitical digital light impulses into analog electric impulses, however there must be a sound system such as a theater or older rack stereo system to recieve and then give the signals to the speakers. Since my home theater system was already on another television, I got a sound bar surround system. You asking specifically about connecting the digital tv antenna to the analog tv with this. I have a digital antenna for cable service disruptions, and the coaxial end won't mate with the coaxial input on this model unless your cable end has a RCA type jack instead of the center wire, screw on jack. The main reason I don't think it will work is this is designed to convert audio signals, and I didn't see anything mentioned in any product reviews prior to buy it about television signals. Plus, it is clearly marked 'AUDIO' above the output jacks. I hope this helps.
