A:AnswerHi garsch, the actual processor is the same in each box. The only difference is the box it came in. One is regular square packaging and the other is the discontinued Dodecahedron box.
Thank you for choosing Intel.
A:AnswerYes it has the K at the end of the name i.e, i9 9900k and from what i know that does mean overclockable and i suggest if you do overclock dont go over 5 gigahertz but yes it is overlockable it will make the temp go up a bit so make sure to be safe get good fans or a liquid cooler for the processor
A:AnswerDell has locked microcode in the bios that prevents anything higher than the 8700k processor from working despite the logical compatibility. This was done to force customers to upgrade. You would need to replace your motherboard which has its own share of issues.
A:AnswerHi, I'm a employee at one of the stores and I was not under any of our systems able to pre order this item. I was however able to call the 1-800-bestbuy and they were able to preorder it for me over the phone. You could try that, although it is possible for the pre-orders to no longer be available due to stock limitations not sure.
A:AnswerAll the I9-9900k’s are the older stepping regardless where you get it from. The stepping revisions just happened and it takes months before those cpus are boxed. The New Steppings will also be the 9900k’s that turbo all cores to 5ghz (not because of the new stepping). The stepping revision Intel did was so their enterprise systems and formats would stop issues with PCI lanes. The 9900k never had that issue.
