  • QuestionWhy doesn't it come with 115volt cord like it does on the LG website?? It's the same model number..

    Asked by UncivilList3.

    • Answer I’m not sure but most all window units over 14,000 btu normally are 220 volts. They even have some smaller units that are 220 plugs. Smaller btu units most are 110.plugs. The spec shows 220 volts but it shows plugs as a 110 but definitely not and typo error on their website. 220 volt plug 15 amps.

  • QuestionCan this be built in a new 2 x 4 wall

    Asked by Bigdog.

    • Answer Hi BigDog. The 23,500 BTU DUAL Inverter Smart wi-fi Enabled Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW2422IVSM is designed for installation in standard double-hung windows with actual opening widths from 29" to 41". The top and bottom window sashes must open sufficiently to allow a clear vertical opening of 19" from the bottom of the upper sash to the inside sill. All side louvers of the cabinet must remain exposed to the outside of the structure. The outside of the cabinet must extend out-ward for at least 12" and there should be no obstacles, such as a fence or wall, within 20" from the back of the cabinet because it will prevent heat radiation of the condenser. Restriction of outside air will greatly reduce the cooling efficiency of the air conditioner. This product is a window air conditioner. As such, a standard single-hung or double-hung window is required for proper installation. Non-window installations, including using sleeves or wall openings, and other installation methods are not recommended...^Ivan

  • QuestionUpon receiving the unit, do we have to let it sit in an upright position?? And if so for how long?

    Asked by jmstein.

    • Answer Hi jmstein. Like any other air conditioner, the LG 23,500 BTU DUAL Inverter Smart Wi-Fi Enabled Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW2422IVSM should not be placed on its side or upside down even during shipping and storage if possible as that could cause damage to the mounting for the compressor. The lubrication in the air conditioner compressor comes in the form of oil, typically located in the compressor case itself. When an air conditioner is turned on its side, this oil settles on the bottom half of the compressor and potentially deprives part of the compressor of oil, which can lead to damage and, eventually, compressor burnout. A sideways orientation can also damage the compressor mounting, which can affect operation. If an air conditioner has been stored on its side, or if it has been shipped that way, turn it to a horizontal orientation for at least 24 hours prior to running the unit. This allows sufficient time for any oils and lubricants to resettle back to their proper levels, providing protection for internal gears and moving parts. Since you you do not know how the air conditioner has been stored or transported before you buy it, It would be advisable to let it sit upright for at least 24 hours prior to running the unit so that any oils and lubricants resettle back to their proper levels, providing protection for internal gears and moving parts...^Ivan

  • QuestionI have a 30 x 60 metal building and am walling off 30 x 20 for office. I would like to mount the unit in the wall I will be adding, can I mount the sleeve or build to fit unit in this wall as long as there are no air flow restrictions to unit? no windows.

    Asked by Bigdog.

    • Answer We would not recommend installing this model unit (LW2422IVSM) in a wall sleeve as this prevents the unit from venting from the sides correctly. ^Chris

  • QuestionIs this unit 110V or 220V

    Asked by MotownMan.

    • Answer Download the spec sheet from this Best Buy product page and it lists the plug is 230 not 115. I think LG has to update their own site and info as Best Buy and Home Depot (which charges $50 more for this model) - BOTH list it with a 230V plug. Only the LG site lists this as using a 115V plug. Also, since it requires 230 Volts to run, I believe it would require a 230V outlet. I am just above neophyte (maybe) in knowledge of electricity, air conditioners, and outlet/plug types - butt I've yet to see any AC's at 23,500 BTU using a 115V - though that last point only means I may not know enough of the products out there.. -Franklin
