    • Answer If you cannot uninstall your LG 8,500 BTU High Efficiency Dual Inverter Window Air Conditioner with Wi-Fi and LCD Remote, 115V - White, Model # LW8024IVSM, from the window, you will need to unplug it and keep the air conditioner unplugged to prevent it from turning on during unseasonably warm days. If you need to keep it plugged in, store the remote control to prevent accidental activation. You can use weatherstripping, polyurethane foam tape, or other flexible foam insulation materials to seal gaps between the window unit, the window sash, and the window frame. Insulate the accordion-style panels with foam insulation panels if applicable. An outdoor, weatherproof cover can be used to protect the AC unit body from snow, ice, and debris, and you will need to ensure it's securely fastened but allows for ventilation. You can purchase an interior cover to provide an additional layer of insulation and protection, or use foam panels, or use a heavy-duty trash bag secured with duct tape. If you must leave the unit in place, ensure it is drained of any residual moisture and run the unit in fan-only mode for several hours to dry it out before covering it...^Ivan.
