• A:Answer Nextbase's answer was not consistent with their user manual which states: - Do not leave the device exposed to a heat source or in a high-temperature location, such as in the sun or in an unattended vehicle. To prevent the possibility of damage, remove the Dash Cam from the vehicle or store it out of direct sunlight, such as in the glove box. - Do not operate the Dash Cam outside of the following temperature range: from -20° to 45°C (from -4° to 113°F).

Q: QuestionDoes the Nextbase 622GW come with the hardwire installation kit? I'm having this installed and not sure if I need to buy the kit in addition to the cam.

Q: QuestionIn my friends car I have noticed when the car is still on but not moving the camera automatically shuts off. How to keep the camera running if the vehicle is also running ? If the car is on but not moving camera should also stay on how to fix.

• A:Answer Hello JJ, The camera has Parking Mode activated. For Parking Mode, if the camera is completely still for five minutes (the car is parked), then the camera will 'hibernate' in Parking Mode. If your car is bumped and the G Force sensor registers movement then the dash cam will automatically turn on, record for 30 seconds and then shut back down again. If you are unlucky enough to be hit twice in a row then the dash cam would automatically record again and capture both events. • A:Answer Hi Doc, The hardwire kit contains all the components required to easily “piggyback” from a fuse box of any vehicle. Simply plug the required fuse tap cable into the vehicle’s fuse box,to provide the camera with its own power supply. This allows the Dash Cam to be installed in your vehicle without the need to use the 12V outlet (car cigarette socket). The cable also includes a blue LED indicator to show when there is power available and also when a Dash Cam is connected. If fitted to a "permanent live" supply, the inbuilt minimum voltage limiter will protect the vehicle's battery from going flat. With the Hardwire Kit installed on a "switched live" supply, the Dash Cam will power on and start recording automatically when the vehicle is opened or starts. Compatible with 12-24V for car or truck installations You'll have your choice to tap a fuse which dependent on the ignition for power, or an independent fuse which will provide 24/7 Dash Cam security when your car is off and in park. The Hardwire kit includes a voltage meter, so that it quits drawing power from a low car battery, this way you never arrive to a dead car. Q: QuestionDid nextbase release the 622gw only in silver? I can only find silver, yet the snap-in accessories are freaking black!! So there'd be a big silver chunk on my windshield with a little black box attached to it which is ugly. what the??

• A:Answer No. The NextBase dash cam only accepts ONE rear camera. For what you want to do, look at the HaloView RD7 and the HaloView CA112 camera system for RVs. It will give you a REAR camera and two SIDE cameras with exceptional video quality. The side cameras replace side marker lights, so you remove the original side markers and install the CA 112 left and right cameras in their place. We put these on a 38 foot motorhome and are VERY pleased with the results.

Q: QuestionCan you disable the Emergency SOS feature? I plan to purchase this for someone who’s not technically savvy, and I’m concerned they won’t know how to interact/respond to this feature if it’s mistakenly triggered.

• A:Answer Hello. Emergency SOS feature would only be activated in the event of a serious accident or collision. It goes through a system of 3 sperate warnings before contacting the emergency services. This feature can be turned off/disabled via the menu settings option though if not needed. Thanks, Nextbase

Q: QuestionI purchased a 128GB SD card for my 622GW 4K dash cam. What would be the range of video recording hours based on selecting the highest resolution recording, audio recording etc. features that use more memory vs using just the default settings?

• A:Answer Hello DD, When the 622GW is set to 4K you will get the following approximate recording times: 80 Minutes on 32GB 165 Minutes on 64GB 330 Minutes on 128GB Turning on additional features such as Audio, Extreme Weather Mode, EIS etc will make a very minimal difference to the quantity of recordings stored on the card. E.g. Disabling all the additional features may provide an extra one minute clip compared to having all the settings enabled. The most important thing to do is to format the SD card every 1-2 weeks which will delete all the Protected Files on the SD card. Q: QuestionPast experience with DashCams that are hardwired still drain the battery over time. Is there a easy way via app just to shut it off or could you add a feature were it detects a geographic location (such as my garage for example) and totally shut off?
