Q: Questioni have the 622GW and looking to buy the rear camera that plugs in the the dash cam, my rear and back windows are factory 95% Tinted will the camera be able to see through the tint from the front of the car ?

• A:Answer Hello, This completely depends on how the tint has been applied and the level of tinting. We'd recommend first trying with your phone and seeing if the camera on your phone can see through the rear window f positioned in the same place the rear camera would be. If you can't see through it with your phone, unfortunately the rear camera is unlikely to be able to work correctly. However if your phone can see through it, there's a high likelihood that the rear camera will too. In order to use the Rear Window Camera you will also need a Series 2 front camera. This model is compatible with the cameras 322GW, 422GW, 522GW & 622GW. The footage is saved in the SD Card, you can view it directly on the camera by stopping the recording and pressing the white arrow at the top right of the screen. You can also access the footage using our app MyNextbase Connect, it requires a Bluetooth & WiFi connection. On the other hand, you can also view the files on a computer by either connecting the camera with the USB Cable or placing the SD Card into an SD Card adaptor and then into the camera. • A:Answer Hello, Thank you for your question! We don't recommend installing the Rear Window Camera in a van as the cable lenght could not be adequate for the vehicle. Please reach out to the vehicle's manufacturer for a more specific explanation about each vehicle, keeping in mind that the cable lenght is 6 meters. On the other, we have the Rear View Camera as an alternative: https://nextbase.com/modules/rear-view-camera/ It connects directly at the side of the camera and still records the back of the road. There is no light that stays on when the camera is in use. • A:Answer I mounted rear window camera on the back glass of my suburban, which is almost vertical. I do not see any reason that this camera could not be mounted on a vertical window. I would recommend mounting the camera close to the top of the glass so that the connector is behind the trim.
