If you keep your landline cable connection and connect a cell phone to the Panasonic, you will have two different phone numbers, one for the cell and one for the landline. If you choose to only use your cellular line, without a landline cable connection the cell and the landline will share the same phone number. Additionally, you can connect different brands of cell phones for example Apple, Samsung, LG, Huawei or Motorola. The cell phone does not need to be a Panasonic model. Q: QuestionWe brought the KX-TGD864S phone. Everything works but it will drop the call when I am talking to the person for a while. It has happened 5 times and our older 12 year 6.0 Panasonic phones didn't do that. Does anyone have this problem. Can it be fixed.

If you want to turn on the answering machine, you need to press the ANSWER ON/OFF button on the main base unit. Also, if you want to record your own greeting message, you need to take a handset, then press MENU, then the key # and enter code 302. After a beep sounds, speak clearly about 20 cm (8 inches) away from the microphone (2 minutes max.). and press STOP to stop recording. In the end, you need to press OFF to exit the programming mode.
