- Answer It does not currently support Vudu at all, nor Hulu. It does, however, support YouTube, Amazon Prime, and Netflix, among the most popular streaming services. Right now (3-11-19) on my particular unit, Dolby Vision is supported on streaming apps, but not the much more common standard HDR. I am hoping that a firmware update will correct this, and I have read on forums that some users are getting HDR on streaming services on this machine, but some, like me, are not. All the current flavors of HDR (HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision, and maybe one more that I am forgetting) work with discs.

QuestionIs there a way to make the player remember where I left off when watching a DVD? When I stop a disc and come back later, it doesn't remember where I was and starts from the beginning, so I have to fast forward to where I left off. That's a real pain!!

- Answer Is it possible you’re pressing the stop button twice? It’s my experience that pressing stop once retains your place and pressing twice does not. You should check the set up menus for help.

QuestionHow do I connect my speakers to this player my speakers have wires that are connected to my receiver now. This unit doesn't have the black and red wire connection behind it.

- Answer First of all, try to learn to speak in complete sentences, use punctuation and grammar, and start new sentences with capital letters. Once you get basic communication skills mastered, you can then move on to more complicated subjects, like reading instruction manuals. Good luck!

- Answer The player does play 3D Blu-Ray movies. Also in the player settings, you can set it up to play 3D movies in 2D.

QuestionHas anyone had a problem with this machine. Such as does it play all of your DVDs - bluray & 4k or do some of them not play at all - look like a scrambled picture. The picture quality and features are great but I'm really not sure about buying another one

- Answer I just got mine. Had it less than a month. It doesn’t play many 4K disks. It also has problems when it does recognize the disks. The screen image will get pixilated and the playback slows to a crawl. I spent a lot of time cleaning the disks. That doesn’t solve the problem. I also have a PS5 hooked up to the same audio system and tv. The PS5 plays the same exact 4k disks that this Panasonic won’t play. Manufacturing date on the player is June 2023. Firmware is up to date. Seems to have less of a problem with standard blue ray disks. First Panasonic anything that has failed me. Going to return the player. Not sure what I’ll do for a replacement.

I have both the Oppo UDP-205 and the UDP-203 and both of those actually have a faster start up time and a better menu lay out, picture quality is sharper on the Oppo players vs the Panasonic, i have also had hand shaking issues at random times with the Panasonic 4k player and my Yamaha Aventage Receiver which goes to my 77" LG OLED C9 for the price though the panasonic is ok but if you can get your hands on a Oppo you wont regret it.

- Answer Compared to dedicated streamers this blu-ray player doesn't offer as good of video quality. That said most devices such as this and other disc players, streaming devices, and AV receivers can upscale lower resolution to 4k. However this isn't necessarily better. Unless you have an entry level TV your TV's video chip does a better job up upscaling an image to 4k than any source device. It is detrimental to picture quality to have multiple devices attempting to upscale an image due to it creating artifacts in the image. Either way, in my experience, you'll need native 4k content and to see a noticeable difference.

- Answer They work for me so far but I've noticed with many players some discs just don't play or are quirky. That being said they should probably play. If you owned a Panasonic Blu-Ray player in the past 10 years the operation and remote will be familiar.

- Answer Hi Randy, I am able to put subtitles on, testing on a 4k bluray movie. Under options you are able to select subtitles on or off, language ect while a movie is playing. There is also a CC button on the remote, this gives you a range of other Close caption options. So to answer your question plain and simple, yes it does.

- Answer Since 4K UHD discs are region free, 4K discs will play from any region on the UB820. Blu-ray discs are limited to the player’s country region code. In the US, the UB820 will only play Region A blu-ray discs and Region 1 dvds. If you want to play blu-rays and dvds from any region, you’ll have to buy a region free modded version of this 4K player.

QuestionI am planning to hook this player up to my LG LED 55UM7300PUA TV. I noticed that it has two HDMI ports. Will I need two separate HDMI cables to hook it up to my tv?

- Answer The Panasonic DP-UB820 does have two HDMI outputs. One of these HDMI outputs is video/audio capable which you would connect to the HDMI input of your television. The other output is audio only and is used to connect to the HDMI input of an audio video receiver.
