QuestionWhich side is the filter? What is the minimum window opening? Do you have to use the window kit when installing?

- Answer The filter slides out from the right side. The full specs say the window opening minimum is 12.52 inch high by 15.98 wide. I used included window kit. the top bar helps to hold unit in window.
