Q: QuestionIs there a way to turn the backup camera off when I am driving so I can actually use it as a rear view mirror and not always a backup camera?

• A:Answer Hi! Yes, go into the settings and turn Screen Sleep ON. The screen will turn off so you can use it as a mirror, but the device will continue to record.

• A:Answer The answer is "maybe." The Rexing does not have Homelink built into it however when I installed the unit the three garage buttons and the power light on my rear view mirror were still accessible. So I didn't loose anything except my compass. But this has GPS, so I really lost nothing at all. My car is a Hyundai.

Q: QuestionDoes this come with the wiring to be hard wired or does it have to plug in to a car charger plug? I bought one in the past and it didn’t have an option to be hard wired.

• A:Answer No it does not you need to buy the intelligent hardwire kit for 30$ more, which is worth it in my eyes seeing as that has the motion sensor for parking mode included with the kit.

Q: QuestionIs there an option to use this as a regular mirror as week? By that I mean is there a setting that only turns on the display when you put it in reverse and once you go into drive the display turns off and it’s just a regular mirror.

• A:Answer Yes I actually found that out by accident there's a little button underneath it when you press it it changes the screen from screen to mirror and just turns off the screen while still recording video.

Q: QuestionI am wanting a backup cam that displays true FHD video through the review mirror. I am not wanting a dash-cam, I have one already. I also want a unit that REPLACES existing mirror, not a ghetto device that snaps over existing mirror. Will this work?

• A:Answer The unit clips on your existing mirror and doesn't replace you mirror. I wish it did replace the mirror or gave you the option to. I driver a Ford E250,- once I clip this unit on my existing mirror, the front facing camera is in back of my factory mirror. You film nothing. I needed to adjust the unit so the camera works and it leaves the right side of the mirror exposed, i thought this unit did split screen and I can't figure out How to do this at all. I have to reach up and switch screens. The cameras are great, display is real nice Cons for me- can't use split screen - if it even has that feature. Can't use voice command - if it even has that feature Can't view from you're phone- if it even has that feature You loose your rear view mirror all together, so forget about looking behind you or at your self. Set up is a Little tough. For Howe much it costs- not worth the money, I'm very surprised that Best buy would even carry this unit. Save your money and get a new touch screen radio that will play 2 or 3 camera's and some small camera's. If I could bring it back I would.

Q: QuestionYour web site says the M2 has a battery but one of your answers here suggests it's a supercapacitor. Which is it? 2nd question: if connected to an ignition power source, how long can the car be off before the M2's vibration detect stops working? Thanks

• A:Answer Be careful taking Rexing's answer as accurate. Rexing's website under "accessories" has a "Smart Hardwire Kit Mini-USB Port for All Rexing Supercapacitor Models". On this webpage it states that this kit is NOT compatible with the "M2". Also, the manual for the "M2" states that it has BATTERIES at least 6 times. It's also very heavy .... due to batteries. Attached is screenshot capture from the manual.

• A:Answer It can record just the front without backup up camera installation. My vehicle has a back up camera to so I got the camera installed on the inside of my vehicle. It’s good to have just incase (for accident purposes incase a vehicle hits you from behind)

• A:Answer Hi JG! The M2 does not come with WiFi/App Compatibility so you'd have to remove the SD card if you need to access the footage or we recommend getting a card reader which can hook up to your mobile device so you can view/share the files.

Q: QuestionI have a Honda Passport with overhead console. Can the power be routed to the overhead without using the cigarette lighter plug? Are there instructions for that?

• A:Answer There are not instructions for that. I bought a panel mount USB jack wired for power only and installed it in the overhead console. Some fabrication was required. Consoles with a light that comes on when you open the door or slide a switch should have full time power in there. I tapped off the wires going to the switch.
