- Answer We just bought a second ring and ours are battery powered, not hard wired, but they both are on the same account and linked together. I'm pretty sure the hard wired can be linked as well.

- Answer Not sure, I installed mine using an existing wired system. Wireless works well within its range, usually about 100ft. Depending on floor plan and other obstacles that can block the signal. You may consider getting a range extender.

- Answer I installed both versions. And I'm leaning more to ears the 3 now. 1. You don't have to use a capacitor or resistor. 2. The battery gives you back up in the chance your power goes out.

QuestionWhy does my wired ring doorbell ring on it's own.

- Answer Hi Trinessa. Thank you for your question today! Your Ring Video Doorbell 3 should not ring on it's own if setup and working correctly. First, check the hardwiring from the back of the doorbell and ensure the two wires are securely attached to the terminal screws on the back of the doorbell. Also make sure they aren't touching each other at all. If your doorbell is still ringing on it's own, we recommend following these steps to perform a factory reset of the device: Press and hold the setup button on the back of the device. Release the setup button after 20 seconds. Wait at least 60 seconds after the factory reset is complete for the Ring device to boot up. It can take up to 120 seconds for the Ring device to boot up.
