- Answer The Ring Doorbell Chime will extend the network for you. If you purchased a ring doorbell with the chime, then move the chime closer to the doorbell. If not, then buy one or add an extender like the TP Link RE650 which should also work.

- Answer The Video Doorbell is outdoor rated; the chime itself is not. They are not waterproof, so submersion is not supported, but camera exposure to the elements is.

- Answer Ring doorbell Pro will be a great camera for one side of the house as it has wide angle view! But as it can’t see through a house or around any corners you need another camera or spotlight camera for other sides of the house to view them. All cameras can be viewed on the same phone or video screen however.

QuestionMy Ring will be facing a highly trafficked area that is West facing so will also get a lot of direct sunlight. 1. Will all passers by be recorded? (Most of them are my neighbors.) 2. Will the heat and light affect the performance and life expectancy?

- Answer I just installed my Ring so I don’t know longevity or wear and tear of direct sunlight yet. Mine faces West as well and the video somehow filters out some of the Sunlight and the video is clear during the day. There are settings that can desensitize the motion detection to cut out motion from the street or certain areas of the sidewalks or yard and a sensitivity setting. You can even set it for people motion only but haven’t tried that yet.

- Answer You can use it without a plan, but for $30/year you can store all of the video clips that the doorbell saves and view them on your phone or Alexa. It's pretty inexpensive for a security device. The $30 covers 2 ring devices so if you get a camera to use somewhere else you can use both on the same plan. If you have more things you can upgrade for more money. Without the plan you get live video, but none of the saved clips (I think).
